Michael (Kurt Russell) und Karen (Madeleine Stowe) werden in ihrem Haus von einem Einbrecher bedroht. Er flieht, bevor die Polizei eintrifft. Officer Pete Davies (Ray Liotta) versucht, das geschockte Paar zu beruhigen. Er kümmert sich auch privat um die beiden und überwacht die neuen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen im Haus. Der Polizist sucht offenbar die Freundschaft des Ehepaars. Michael fühlt sich erst geschmeichelt, aber dann wird ihm Davis zu aufdringlich. Es kommt zu einem Streit, nach dem die Ereignisse außer Kontrolle geraten. |
