In the end credits of Predator there is the following credit.

Vocalizations by Peter Cullen

He isn't listed in the cast. He's listed within the sound crew.

He's currently profiled in such titles as Gremlins, Knight Rider, Transformers and many animated titles.

I would assume that he provided the vocalizations for the Predator.

So does he get credited as a cast member for providing vocalizations?

IF you can find another source that says he actually "made the sounds" then I would say it is reasonable to give him some sort of cast credit (possibly uncredited as Skip says).

However with the informaiton to hand it's not possible to tell whether he made the noises or whether he was the computer/sound tech who created them on his PC and until that is proven one way or the other I'd leave well alone.

Yes, that's what this interview with him says.

You could enter: Peter Cullen as Vocalizations (voice).

I repeat he is Crew NOT Cast, so (uncredited) is the Only possibility.

Yeah, I think (uncredited) (voice) captures this accurately, since he's not credited amongst the cast.

The fact that he's not credited amongst the cast doesn't make him uncredited. Additional voices also are often not credited amongst the cast and yet we add them without the uncredited suffix to our cast lists too.

PS. We recently had a similar discussion about ADR Groups and people jumped on me because I wanted to add them as uncredited cast.

You will notice that in my original post on thsi I said "He is crew not Cast for this film, now the question becomes how aboutan (uncredited, voice) role. I pass, and plead the 5th." So I am not saying he should be or should not, I am only stating factually that he is not a Cast member and the ONLY possibility would be (uncredited, voice), beyond that...<shrugs>

I will offer that ADR can involve far more than voice work, where this particul;ar credit does read Vocalizations, but again don't interpret that as either support or non-support for the suggestion.

I think (voice) should be limited to dialog only.

His contribution was sound effects, which is why he is credited in the Crew section and not in the Cast!

That is another way of looking at it and, if you think about it, it does make sense.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I do not agree. The definition of voice is not stricktly spoken word. Also vocalizations are sounds produced with a voice and therefore they are exchangeable.

I never said that the definition of 'Voice' was strictly spoken word.

I said for the purposes of DVDP, the use of the (voice) tag should be limited to dialog only, unless of course, a non-dialog (voice) credit is listed in the Cast section of the actual film credits.

Do you understand the difference?

Yes, and I didn't meant you said that. I just do not agree to use (voice) for dialog only.
