OK, I am watching the Smilebox version now, and first impressions are - stunning picture, great sound, no (edit -  barely) visible joins so far and... the Smilebox image "works" and, to me, does not seem "wrong"

If nothing else, this is a nice addition to my collection, and thank you to those of you that seem to have recommended this motion picture event movie
Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen]
Ah... well you see.... I thought I'd say something more interesting... but cannot think of anything..... oh well

It's an excellent epic film. I'm disappointed though that the DVD version doesn't also include the Smilebox version .Seems kinda lame for an Ultimate Collector's Edition. My copy should arrive today.

Ahh, this is just so they can release the "Extreme Way Out West Ultimate Cowboy Collection" in a year or two

Or, just that you buy the Ultimate and the Blu-ray versions to have everything - either way, more money for Cinerama/Warner/MGM types

Apparently I read somewhere that in order for the Ultimate (Standard) ED to include the smilebox version,  IT would have required two more Discs., making it a total of Five discs., Which isn't out of the question,, (Look at The last Blade Runner Set.).,
So It may just be a matter of time and Years before that would/could  Happen.,
But who knows??  One day I may get a BluRay machine , and then it will be double-dipping time again..
I have to wait till Friday for mine as well....
