Don't ask the same question in several threads, hoping someone will fall for it...

What are the criteria for accepting/declining a contribution to the Online Database?

I contributed  update to “Toy Story / Toy Story 2” to makes it a Box Set. (Declined)
Added two new items “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” as Disc ID for children of the above. (Approved)

According to the Rules  “Toy Story / Toy Story 2” is a Box Set. It had 7 yes votes and
3 no votes. The Nos saying it was not a Box Set.

I do not understand????

Are the still two separate databases? This would devide the community, and halt the online contribution. Some DVDes might be found in old 2.4/5 and others in 3.0. The big questions is, where are people submitting most profiles? I want to use the one with the most updated and largest information.

I have premium registration, so features will not be a problem. If however people without registration, have more than 50 profiles, will have a program that is less "good" than 2.5, many people will still use 2.5.

So will there be any synching between old and new profiles?

The database for 2.4/5 is not updated anymore. Only 3.0 is up-to-date. Therefore it is unwise to still use version 2.x

OK, that might be good, but what happens if I select "contribute" in the old version? (something I just did.) Is the changes lost? Too bad I just deleted the offline version after i submitted.

You cannot contribute in the old version anymore. I haven't tried it, but I think, that you will not be able to finish submitting the contribution once you get to the web form.

Forgive me if I've missed this but how do I add my online collection to DVD PROFILE 3.0.?

I have no back-ups stored as this is a new computer after my last one fried so my online page is my only storage base.

And this collection was formatted on a much earlier version of profiler back when it was Intervocative, so the new downloaded version wants new login details and doesn't recognise my intervocative account?

This may be off some help:
FAQ: How do I upgrade?
basicly:
on the old forum or in the old program (get your key info and registration name)
get a new key here: Registration
- with the old program download your online collection. (if you don't have it installed get it here)
- back it up: from DVD Profiler version 2.x menu:
-- File backup
- install DVD Profiler 3.1.1 (Build 1171) from here
- from DVD Profiler menu: File
-- Restore Database (browse to the location where the Backup File is stored)
That should be it.
and your account is controlled from here:
http://www.invelos.com/MyProfiler.aspx?display=account
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

edit:  It appears to be fixed now ..

I have found in the past 24 hours a Problem with on Line contributions.,
If I contribute something it sits there with Profile Status as being read as ' received'
, then if I change something and send it back it (same UPC) It now opens a second ticket.., If I do this a third time it now accepts this as a third ticket..
Plus if you try and use Edit it will not open the contribution into the 'notepad' basis for changing (or editing) with spellcheck etc ... ..
Bottom line  we have a a problem here ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

No,
it's not fixed.
I have a contribution that got processed on Dec. 14th but has no change in status.
Even more strange: While it disappeared from the "Pending Updates" you could still vote on it by using the "View Contributors" option of the profile.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
