Says the man who tried to slip IMDB data through a little while ago. Yeah so? Data which is (also) part of the IMDb is not necessarily wrong. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

Seeing as how the Rules specifically say not to use Third Party databases, martin and Ken recently specifically said NO IMDb, Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Martin, t'es mal barré si tu cherches à discuter ici. Je me suis déjà fait tacler sévère sur le même sujet... I do not speak French, but I used a translator and if I understand correctly you tell me not to discuss this because I will only be flamed. The answer I can give you (and others) is this: I am not using the IMDb as a major source, just as a guide and that is NOT against the rules. If I did not mention other sources I checked in my notes, it's just laziness on my behalf or I forgot what they were. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

Actually, what he's saying is that he raised a similar point recently and he's pissed because nobody agreed with him. Now he wants to complain and whine but he decided to do it in french because less people will understand even though his english is very good. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

| Posted: | | | | We all love our movies and want a resource that is easy yet supplies the best data available. Differences of opinion will, of course, occur but communication should be done in a respectful manner. Anything other than that distracts from the topic and does not help to solve the problem. There are a set of rules that have been established in order to maintain a semblance of continuity. Someone mentioned, sorry I don't remember who, that the best and easiest way to contribute is to take the data to be contributed directly from the DVD. If someone does not do that, which is their choice, there is a chance that an error can occur. Or, the person voting on the contribution may incorrectly interpret the rules and make a mistake. Both sides should be given a chance to explain their rationale which usually can be resolved. In the rare instance the end result is not to someone's satisfaction, we all have the option to keep our personal preferences in our local data base. This all seems pretty straight forward to me, but then I may be making a mistake! So let's all work together please. |

Says the man who tried to slip IMDB data through a little while ago. Problem is that sometimes even IMDB gets it right, and then we can't see the difference. Or should we now start spiking our data? | | | Hans |

As long as the data is taken from the FILM it's OK. If you take it from somewhere else it is NOT OK. This is not a hard concept to undferstand.
