Yes. As long as you still have 2.4 or 2.5 installed and have that title in your collection. The notes are still there.

If you don't have the old profiler any more, you could try to construct the URL yourself.

E.g. http://www.intervocative.com/Forums.aspx?task=contributionnotes&type=DVD&ProfileUPC=010884503166.5 is for the German DVD of Sabrina. 010884503166 is the shorted version of the UPC and .5 is for the locality Germany.

Therefore the old contribution notes for Shane could be found here

IMO, the words Ken used: "Exact" and "Carbon Copy" leave no wriggle room whatsoever. If there are any differences, no matter how small, the data should remain unless proved wrong by other means.

If I owned the title I couldn't vote Yes to the removal.

I'll reiterate it here - if the source of the data is not immediately evident, there's no reason to remove uncredited entries.  However, if (for instance), tarhe data is a carbon copy of IMDB or any other third party database, that is enough reason to remove it.  When removing it, be specific in your contribution notes so we don't pass it over.

Yes, if they are clearly exact copies, they should be removed before resubmitting.

The above are Ken's most recent quotes on the topic.

Sorry, no.  Ken's most recent comments were on July 9 in the rules forum, which I linked to at the bottom of page 2.  Those comments were:

Quote:

No, we're not asking for plausible denaiability.  What we need to avoid is accepting contributions which are a copy of the IMDB data, or of any third party database.  There's a difference between checking a few roles by researching from various sites, and visiting a single third party source, making a carbon copy of their data.

and

Quote:
Contributions which contain unmodified prior uncredited entries are not required to state the source of those uncredited entries.  Only if you are adding new uncredited entries (or indeed any new cast/crew), is a source needed.

If you believe the uncredited entries are a carbon copy of a third party source, and the existing contribution note history doesn't supply a source, you may remove them, but are not required to do so.

Note in the second post he says, "If you believe".  Those three words make it an individual choice.  I don't like it, but I am not going to pretend he said something he didn't.

We've got a 19 page thread about SRP pennies.  It's painfully obvious that acting like an adult is not a requirement around here.

Yeah, it's just as adult as the comment about people voting no because it was my opinion they should be removed, because after all - I don't have any right to that opinion.

No, it isn't as adult as the comment you mention.  What is childish is threating retribution because of this relatively minor disagreement.

Then what do you call this?  If this isn't a thinly veiled threat of future dealings, I don't know what is:

"If we followed your thinking, almost all uncredited cast would have to be removed. I know, that's what you want. But that isn't what we want and you are in a very small minority on this subject. If you want to begin removing all "uncredited" cast from the db you might have chosen a less obvious release. All you have succeeded in doing is exposing your desire to remove all uncredited cast to more people and more will be watching for this from you."

Not only is the premise of that statement wrong, but I have said repeatedly that it's wrong, but I find people already voting on contributions based on that belief.  And you call ME childish?  Get a grip.

You have openly stated that you want the "uncredited" cast to go away because you don't like it.

I specifically stated my feelings, TO YOU, in this thread.  Either quote ALL of what I said, in context, or don't quote me at all.  As you state it just above, it's a lie.

Yes, I call YOU childish.  Just because somebody (or sombodies) else are also behaving childishly doesn't excuse you.  I'm not the one who needs to get a grip.
