| | Posted: | | | | Here's a detailed step by step guide for installing Windows 11 on a Mac using VMware Fusion Pro. It may look long and complicated but it is actually pretty easy and straightforward. Well worth the effort.

The only thing it seems not to show is how to install VMware Tools. Once VMware Fusion Pro has been installed, go to the top menu: Virtual Machine > Install VMware Tools. This will allow you to customize things such as setting the screen size. | | | | Last edited: by nanoron |

| | Posted: | | | | A nice thing about using Fusion Pro to run Windows 11 is the extensive support on their website: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/fusion-pro/13-0/using-vmware-fusion.html
DVD Profiler runs better on my Apple silicon Mac using Fusion Pro and Windows 11 than it does on my Intel Mac using Bootcamp and Windows 10. No problems so far. I think this says a lot since Bootcamp runs Windows 10 natively on an Intel Mac, while Fusion Pro runs Windows 11 virtually on an Apple silicon Mac. | | | | Last edited: by nanoron |

| | Posted: | | | | Here's a recent upgrade, VM Fusion Pro 13.6.4:
https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/fusion-pro/13-0/using-vmware-fusion/upgrading-vmware-fusion/upgrade-vmware-fusion-from-a-download.html
Here are the release notes: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/fusion-pro/13-0/release-notes/vmware-fusion-1364-release-notes.html
It downloads very slowly but Ignore the progress bar on their website as it downloads and just pay attention to the progress bar on your Mac file. | | | | Last edited: by nanoron |

| | Posted: | | | | Updating VMWare Fusion Pro is a bit odd but nonetheless works fine. It's also nice to see that they are routinely updating it. Following the instructions in my previous post, you need first to shut it down on your virtual PC and then on your Mac, delete the VMWare app from your Mac and then install the updated version on your Mac. Once installed on your Mac, run it and then update VMware Tools from the PC menu. Works great and it's FREE! What's not to like? | | | | Last edited: by nanoron |

| | Posted: | | | | I haven't tried using VM Fusion, hadn't heard of it til your post actually, but I have DVD Profiler and Windows 11 running perfectly in Parallels 19 on my MacBook Air M1 so it should work on any Apple Silicon. One thing about this setup that I just posted in Desktop Technical Support about though. It doesn't seem to let your database sync to the phone app via cellular hotspot. It connects fine though if both devices are on your home wifi. |

| | Posted: | | | | I installed DVDProfiler on my MBAir M4 via VMware Fusion 25H2. Just to update for people using VMware Fusion 13. I haven't used it extensively, I'm also not a heavy DVDP power user, but so far I've only noticed a small lag on scrolling through the list when adding new items. Otherwise, it seems to be working flawlessly. After that, I came to check the forums after many many months and saw this thread. Out of curiosity, I barely use my iPad app, iPad Pro M4, but reading the thread, I saw issues of Syncing etc. I only use the DVDProfiler Online method to keep my DVDP synced, just tried now between my PC, my Mac and iPad, which is very easy. Why use any other method? Again, not a heavy user here, although I've owned this forever, since Windows Mobile times, I guess. |

The advantages of using the wi-fi method to sync:- You get two way syncing. Changes on the desktop program gets synced to the phone AND changes on the phone gets synced to the desktop app. - Custom cover scans get transferred. - It's simpler (just two clicks in the phone app). - It works even if the web site should be down. How much of an advantages this is depends on how you use DVD Profiler. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks! For me the two-way sync would be the best advantage. To use the online method with several installations is probably confusing. Does it work between two desktop (windows) installations? |
