| Posted: | | | | The release date is not even close to accurate. NicholasVargo attempted to change this before, and I don't know what he contributed, but the current release date in the database cannot be correct. A review of the copyright notice on the back cover indicate the images were copyrighted in 1999. All other sources (Amazon, etc) attempt to pin the release date on Jan 28th, 2000; which also cannot be correct, because that is a Friday (new music and movies traditionally come out on Tuesdays). An ebay listing identifies the release data as Feb 15, 2000; which is a Tuesday, and is consistent with the copyright information on the back of the box. http://cgi.ebay.com/Poltergeist-(2000,-DVD)_W0QQitemZ380002158685QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp=TL0803030815a7510 Also, an amazon.com user correctly points out the differences between the first three R1 releases of Poltergeist (without pinning down an exact date for this UPC, unfortunately) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-images/0792833201/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0/002-5690300-1381636?ie=UTF8&index=0#gallery I have researched this as best I could to try and find the most accurate information for this. But the MGM version was released with a completely different UPC (027616603999 ) This release is the first release from Warner, and is a separate profile, NOT a rerelease of the MGM profile.
