I'm puzzled why the correct the overview of this film (copied carefully from the keep case) that I submitted and had approved has been replaced by the completely wrong overview I corrected? The running time and subtitles have also been changed back to their previous entries. The disc ID I submitted has been deleted entirely.

Who is doing the double-checking to keep the information accurate?

Double-checking is made mostly by the users when they vote on new contributions.

Thing is, the ultimate approval of a change or not is made by a reviewer at Invelos. Thing is, they may not have the DVD in hand, and anyway, with the amount of contributions they get, I don't think they take the time to check each contributions against the actual DVD, even if they have it in their possession.

So, unless there are some well founded no votes on the contribution, they can't really know who's right and who's wrong.

I see a number of questions here, nitrate. You used the box, whiich is well-known to contain errors. If a user had checked the ACTUAL runtime on the disc and it was different from that of the case then case is WRONG. Same is true for virtually everything on the disc versus the box data, the ONLY accurate source for any data is the disc itself.

As for your comment about Disc ID, there are known to be multiple disc IDs for any given title, not all but a significant number. Why is this true, none of us knows for sure, but it could be two different plants used to produce the discs, a second printing of a disc, etc. That said it is important for Invelos to capture the data on every possible disc ID for every title, yours has been captured by the system even though all you SEE is the most recent addition. This an area where you want to be careful accepting updates because you may obliterate your data. I want my local dfatabase to accurately reflect my collection so, if someone submits an ADDITIONAL Disc ID I will not allow it to overwrite my own locally.

I hope this helps you.

Well, I took a look at the contribution notes, and it seems you submitted corrections to this profile twice. However, only the second contribution you noted "Corrected release date" shows the status "approved". It seems to me you overwrote your fist submission.

Maybe check your personal contribution list under "My Profiler -> Contributions" for this title. If the only entry shown is the one with the corrected release date, just resubmit.

To the changes you described:

The correct source for the overview is the box.
The correct source for the running time is the DVD, just put it in a player and read it off the screen.
The correct source for the subtitles is the DVD, just put it in a player and read them off the screen by toggeling through them while the movie runs (menus can be erronous, too).
If you add a Disc ID, while IDs MAY vary, replacing an existing entry with no entry at all, is wrong and shouldn't be approved to begin with.

The deletion of the Disc ID, btw, is the main reason why I suspect your initial submission was overwritten by yourself.

Hope I could help.
Lutz
