Skip From the current Rules: "Studios List the Studios in the following priority. * Theatrical Release Studio(s) * Production Company(s) * DVD Distribution studio(s) if there is room available." Theatrical Release Studio is listed separately from Production Company. All of the discussion in this thread has been about Production Companies and potentially a "new" field for Distributor. Some people have even suggested that they couldn't care less (hope that meets with your approval, John) about the Theatrical Release Studio as it has nothing to do with the DVD. I am asking whether, based on this thread, people are suggesting that we drop Theatrical Release Studio. If not, I want to make sure that it is made clear that Theatrical Release Studio is covered somewhere in what is being proposed. You say it goes in "Production Companies". No doubt others disagree. I'd like to see it separated from Production Companies the same as Distributor with its own field. Barring that, it needs to be agreed to that The Theatrical Release Studio would go in the "Production Companies" list, even if they actually did nothing more than distribute the movie to the theaters and had no real production role. | | | | Hal |

In my example you will find a nice logo labeled "Touchstone Home Entertainment". When you actually look up the fine print on the back cover, you will find that the DVD distributor for this label is actually "Buena Vista Home Entertainement". For me it is more valuable to list "Touchstone Home Entertainment" from the spine than "Buena Vista Home Entertainment" from the small print. I think the same is true for other studios as well (e.g. Walt Disney). |

Hal, this is about adding two more studio fields so we can add more poduction companies after the release studio. I would never want to remove the TRS. Asking for a seperate field for the DVD Distributer is because that is iinformation that always gets llost as it is not a TRS or Production company and is third on the list of priorities. In my country, there are some editors can't distributer they, and do betwen others.
Examples:
- Doraemon, Studio Toei, Editor LukTV, distribuitor BuenaVista.
- Bruce Lee films, Studio, I nor remenber exactly Hong KOng studio. Editor Selecta, distribuitor, Universal. |
