Common Name + Child Names |

| | Posted: | | | | Ken, I think is would be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (yes google spell checker know how to spell this word  ) if you could have the name linking somehow indicated in Profiler. I envision something like this: Common Name --- Child Name --- Child Name --- Child Name Those would display in the left pane for cast or crew editing and typing any of the child names would cause the common name and all child names to filter. I don't know the mechanics of how you might be able to do this, but I'm crossing my fingers. | | | | Kevin |

The biggest problem that I see is that it needs to come from the master database, not a smaller local copy. I could be wrong but I think our local copy is mostly cast or crew from our own DVDs. To work well our local database would need a "credited as" file for all cast and crew in the master database.

I just realised with the current situation, once you remove all the name variants out of the name database into "credited as" then you can no longer search/filter for those names. I see that as a big problem. | | | Andy
