I'm looking into buying Slap Shot on DVD, but, I want the french dub that was done in Quebec, other than that it's not interesting.

Thing is, I can't find any information on whether the french dub that's on the DVD was subbed in Quebec or in France..

Can anybody shed some light on this, please?

I believe all North American released videos in French are French Canadian, not European French,,
and,, is there a lot of differance between the two or just mild differance?
Plus I don't believe the DVD is in French subtitles only English and Spanish.
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

The french canadian version of Slap Shot is VERY different form the european version.  In fact, it is so different that it's like if it was another movie.

I'm the kind of people who likes to watch a movie in its original version, with subtitles if I can't understand the language used. But Slap Shot is the exception. In Quebec, it's a cult movie.

RossRoy, I don't know if there's an edition that has the Quebec dubed version.

And Widscreenforever, no, not all North American released videos in French are French Canadian.
Certainty of death...
Small chance of success...
What are we waiting for ?!

Your spots could be stronger

Widescreen:

There are quite a few french DVD that are released in Canada while being dubbed in Europe, and while I mostly don't care, since I watch them in their original language usually, Slap Shot is that single exception where the Canadian French dub is even more hilarious than the original english version.

Also, the European French version of Slap Shot has a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE with the Quebec version. For starters, the title, in Quebec it's "Lancer Frapper", while in France, it was "La Castagne"

Thanks Frodonf.

I've read on IMDb someone asking the very same question, and he got positive answers about the 25th anniversary version.

Guess I'll just buy it and hope.
