Original DVD covers: Where to find out? |

| | Posted: | | | | Can anybody direct me to a website where I can look-up the Original Released cover for any DVD.
The reason I am requesting this is because a cover for a DVD in my collection has been submitted for approval, for an improve scan over one that is currently in the database, yet my version is totally different yet with the same EAN. I looked up the release date fpr the particular DVD and found that it was released in the UK on the 3rd December 2001.
Running my version of the same DVD through DVDInfoPro mine has a press date of 8/30/2001 or for us Brits 30th August 2001, which would make it an original release. As I only purchased this DVD recently via a secondhand shop, I have no idea if I have an Original cover or Not, so would appreciate any help.

Right the DVD in question is
EAN: 5-014437-808134
Title: Wayne's World 2
Locality: UK (region 2)
As I said in my original post the on-line cover is different to mine in that there is a banner across the top stating "Widescreen Collection", everywhere I have looked on the web seems to indicate that is a re-released cover, giving a release date (for the UK) of late 2006. Which still doesn't help me.
My cover is virtually identical (front and rear) except 'NO Banner' but as I stated in my first posting the DVD has a pressing date (date of production) of 30th August 2001.
If it turns out my cover is not an original then I will keep it local, but on the overhand, if my cover is the original then I would like to update the on-line Database.
