All "common names" have been carefully researched: first and foremost by checking against other credits using the NameVariants plugin, followed by a Google search, and finally by checking at various on-line resources like allmovie.com, bfi.org.uk, imdb.com, nndb.com, tcmdb.com and wikipedia.org. | | Posted: | | | | The current profile contains a crew entry for sound mixer "José Antonio García, credited as Jose Antonio Garcia". Further research has shown me that I don't own a single profile in which he is credited with those accents - instead, he's credited as "Jose Antonio Garcia" every single time, like he is here. Other examples of "Jose Antonio Garcia" credits can be found in 'Bruce Almighty', 'Evan Almighty', 'Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her' and 'Kicking & Screaming'. I therefore suggest to use "Jose Antonio Garcia" as his common name, and as such, he simply be entered AS CREDITED in this particular profile. Further research has shown me that this use of the "credited as" feature is no longer necessary, probably as a result from more and more IMDb-mined data being corrected. Have a look at Invelos' own "credit lookup tool" results: Mercedes Villamil: 56 profiles, Mercedes Kastner: only 9 profiles (and partly still IMDb-mined data). Since "Mercedes Villamil" is now the most-credited form, she can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. | | Posted: | | | | Mr. Goodall has only two credits in our database - one in this film, and one in 'Apollo 13', in which he's credited as Matthew Goodall. With two name variants in two films, it's a bit hard to establish the common name. Luckily, we've got something to act as a tiebreaker: there are 78 profiles for 'Apollo 13' in the database, while there are only 54 'Liar Liar' profiles. By lack of anything better, that means that the 'Apollo 13' name variant is the most-credited form, and as such, common name Matthew Goodall needs to be added here to enable his two credits to link together.
