ok not sure if i'm allowed to ask this and if not I apologise - some one told me that theres a hack out there to turn one of my DVD players into a region free player with just the press of a few buttons is that correct adn if so does anyone know where i can ge tthe code from and if anyones got it can they pass it on

the DVD player in Question is a "Aiwa XD-AX1" NOT "XD-AX10"

there are sites out there that tell you how to do it because I have done it to Coby DVD players. I would search Google because there was several sites

There is nothing wrong asking this, can't see that this is illegal, otherwise the manufacturer would not built in the possibility to make them region free, anyhow I was never as friend of this consumer unfriendly region thing.

The place you would be looking for is videohelp.com, but the don't have a hack for your player there.

I did a search and yours is a listed with "no hack", I'm afraid. That said, some players like my Panasonic have to be hacked with a remote that you can hire from places like this:

Multi Region Upgrades

I see they have the AX10 listed. Might be worth asking them what they know about the AX1.

Edit: I was obviously still typing when SugarJoe mentioned VideoHelp!
