Does anyone know if the contribution process is totally automated?

I submitted a profile for "the practice" that was denied after 4 days with no votes.  My submission contained actual Overview, Cast, Crew and Images which the current is missing or does not match the rules.

From this I am assuming that the process is automated, which in general is good, but probably should not decline or approve none voted submissions but should require intervention.

Now, everytime I refresh profiles it wants to overwrite my current profile.  Yes, I know I can lock it.  The point is that the online system, in this scenario, will not be updated with the best information.

Any comments/insight?

Did you leave detailed notes on your source(s) for the chaneges you were making? No sources, rules violations with gain an automatic decline everytime.

I don't own the ttle, so I don't know the circumstances.

There are a group of people called "screeners" who evaluate all submissions and have the final decision as to whether it is accepted or declined.
If you think there's nothing wrong with your info, resubmit and make sure your notes are thorough. Screeners can have off days like the rest of us!

It is definitely NOT automated; a screener takes into account votes (if there are any), contribution notes (missing them will get you declined... and they're getting MUCH stricter on sources) and general contribution (if they spot anything obviously wrong or 'odd with no explanation' it will fail... on top of that, as northbloke says, sometimes they just make an error... often it's just Geri and/or Ken doing the work and they do have to sleep sometimes!

Yessir.
Groups can be void (or null), unitary (or single elemental), or plural [with 2 or more elements].

With every passing hour our solar system comes forty-three thousand miles closer to globular cluster M13 in the constellation Hercules, and still there are some misfits who continue to insist that there is no such thing as progress.

I'd say that we know already at least two members of this group.

This is a question under the whole contribution process. If 2 people submit different additions to an existing cast list before either has been released. If both get accepted would one undo the submission of the other OR is the system smarter than that and sync the 2 updates? I need to know because that is happening with one of mine at the moment and if it would I'll withdraw and re-submit.

I don't think it's possible for the screeners to pick and choose fields from a contribution, let alone part of a single field. Either that or they choose not to.

Interesting question - I would say to be on the safe side, if you agree with the changes on the other submission, edit yours to match and submit again containing all changes on one submission.

Yes, the second cast list would overwrite the first one.

Which is why I (and others) tend to play it safe and No vote on a submission that is 'correct at that moment in time' but would be removing good data if both sbmissions were Accepted and Released.

AIUI however, though I may be wrong, the overwrite only happens in areas both update so if Sub 1 had Cast and Region updates and Sub 2 had cast and audio updates, if bother were accepted the Sub 2 cast chages would go through but and overwite Sub 1's cast changes but both Region (from Sub 1) and Audio (from Sub 2) would go through.
