I recently added Space: Above and Beyond to my collection and after checking out the DVDs I added some extra's and submitted them. I immediately received a 'no' vote stating that it goes against box set rules. I was under the impression that a TV series box doesn't count as box set. Apparently someone is making changes to make it a boxset and putting the individual discs into profiles. I've never seen that done before with a TV-series. Is all information supposed to go to child profiles and removed from the parent profile? I really don't see why a TV-series box with a full season needs child profiles.

Have you read the updatedTV boxset rules rules?

Quote:

Disc-level Profiles

Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired, but this is not required. Add these profiles to the box set contents of the parent profile. When submitting a change to an existing TV series profile that is currently a box set, do not remove the existing contents.

In either case, the cast and crew are to be entered into the parent profile using appropriate episode dividers.

But extra's info should be added to the parent profile even if you (incorrectly)  apply normal box rules as the extras do not go across multiple 'films' in this case.

TV Series sets do not follow the Box Set rules, they follow the TV Series rules.  TV Series sets must have all the data in the parent profile.  Child profiles are allowed, but no information is to be removed from the parent.

Yes, I read the rules to verify and I was a bit confused, hence my question here. The way I understand it right now is that all info should go to the parent profile and into the relevant child profiles. Or am I incorrect in this assumption? This I based my contribution on since I already thought normal box set rules wouldn't apply.

Basically you are correct in adding the extras info to the main profile.

Just make sure you aren't deleting the boxset content as that would be a legitimate no vote, then PM the user and explain they are incorrectly applying the rules.

I already PMed the user. He has submitted a large change himself but his change didn't address the features at all. I made sure my change only address the features and changes nothing else. That way it won't interfere with his pending update. I also resubmitted my submission with extended explanation.

Thanks for clearing things up for me.

There is already a full set of profiles - master, and all child profiles - in the database for this one.  I know because I did them a couple of years ago.  I don't know if they've been updated per the current rules or not.  I have them locked the way I want them, so I don't care what is in the online.
