Problem with installation on a smartphone |

| | Posted: | | | | Sorry, didn't get much sleep this night and English is not my native language... Unfortunately this website just sais that the mobile version would run fine under windows mobile 5 so I expected it to be a good compliment to my desktop license of DVD Profiler. Well, after having some issues I think that this information is a little misleading, since it appears to only be executable on pocket pcs... So my first request is of course a windows mobile smartphone version of DVD Profiler!  But my real concern is, that I could nonetheless install it on my smartphone but since then am unable to install any program, even some I shortly installed before. Of course my smartphone was (and still is) decertified and unlocked but nonetheless installations are allways aborted with an error message similar to 'not enough rights' (original message is in German). My first question is, why could I install DVD Profiler mobile on my mobile, if it is not expected to work on smartphones? Although I couldn't launch it because of a missing compact net framework 2 at least the icon was in the startmenu. And I could de-install it after the above mentioned issues but unfortunately that didn't help either. The second and more important question is, what might this installation have done that prevents me from installing anything since then and how could I revert it? Please don't propose a hard reset, that would really mean a LOT of work... I'd be very grateful for any help on this matter! Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany! Marcel |

| | Posted: | | | | OK, since obviously nobody knew an advice I went the hard way and made a hard reset. After that I tried a second time to install DPM and again the same problems occured. So this in my opinion is really a BIG bug that should be fixed ASAP since a pocketpc software should never be allowed to install itself on a smartphone.
So anyone interested in a smartphone version please DON'T try to install it! It will - but afterwards will not only by unstartable it will further more render your smartphone quite unusable...
Since this website was and as of now still is misleading (I don't consider a txt-file besides the setup.exe a good way to explain that the software will only run on pocket pcs- especially if it pretends to install properly on smartphones) and I bought the software only because of my good experience with the desktop application I guess I now have to write to support in order to get rid of my unfortunatly useless license... |

I too, was under the impression that this would work on a smartphone running windows mobile 5 (which I have on my Orange SPV E200) and I downloaded & installed & try to run, and it just doesn't. It thinks it has, and I can see it all installed on the phone in active sync explorer, and I can synch ok with it, and it drops the images into the program files folder as if it's working, but it's not....
Are we SURE it doesn't work on smartphones ??? anybody ???

Spread As far as I know MS Smartphones do not have touch screens, nor can they run Pocket PC software. Your Orange SPV E200 does not have a touch screen does it? Touch screen is required for DVD Profiler Mobile to function. | | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

It says Windows Mobile 5.0 support, it doesn't say anything about a touch screen being a requirement though.  |

Agree, the touch screen is the key. My phone has it and works great.
Not sure why Invelos hasn't updates the main page. It says Windows Mobile 5.0 support, it doesn't say anything about a touch screen being a requirement though. Agree. Indeed the E200 does NOT have a touch screen, so if it's a pre-requisite to run the Mobile app, then I cannot....cheers for clearing that up (good job I didn't subscribe to it!!!) I believe an update on the main page is the way to go to avoid further confusion !! Go to it Mr.Cole.!!!
