Hi,

Does anyone have contact info for MGM Benelux?
There is a problem with the 1st Robocop DVD from the Trilogy DVD Box.
First problem is that you can't go back to chapter 1, 2 or 3 from the movie once past chapter 4.
The second problem is that the video stops for a second during the movie 2 or 3 times next to the dual layer transition.

Any help would be grateful, thanks!

Well, I don't have this one, but if it's something still found in stores, you might just want to exchange it in the store.  Most, if not all, stores will exchange for the exact same movie if something is damaged.

As for the second pause, I've found that happens frequently with DL discs.  It takes the player a second to find the next spot in the movie.  If you look at the back cover, you'll notice that most DLs have the warning that that happens.

Most people these days have access to more than One DVD player in their house ( we have 5),, plus a DVD rom feature in your PC could also come to the rescue here..  Check that disc in the other players,., if they all display the same characteristics.. you've got a defect.

on my PC DVD-ROM player it seems to play well and I can return to chapters 1, 2 and 3.
very weird that on the expensive DVD/HD-recorder of Sony can't play the disc well though...

I have found the problem.

On the disc there are 2 versions of the 1st robocop movie:
Original version and the director's cut.

It's with the director's cut where I can't go back to chapter 1,2 and 3 and where the video pauzes 2 or 3 times.
The original version works perfect.

Are the pauses at places where 'seamless' branching could be occurring?

Sorry don't know the Benelux contact, but this was a noted issue with the UK release as well. A very quick google search didn't turn up any solution being offered by MGM UK.

I just read about the problem on : http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/robocop-trilogy.html
It says that there are 4 pauzes in the Director's cut version. So it's not an error, though should have been prevented by MGM!
