Let's see how they feel 3 months from now when major retailers have decreased the floorspace devoted to HD DVD players and discs to next to nothing. Many Wal-marts have already started doing this, and Best Buy seems to be next.

Hey Ken, Why do you release you're biggest Q1 2008 title , American Gangster as a Combo?  With the DVD version that have the Dir. Cut with 20 minutes added, while the HD DVD version get the shaft with the Theatrical Cut and DD+ Only???

So where are you getting your information???  I mean honestly, you guys post crap like this like you know something that Ken Graffeo doesn't?!?  So many of the Blu-Ray supporters here love to post links and demand links so please show me the link that says that Wal-Mart and Best Buy or any of the other big retailers, where they say they are shrinking floor space for HD-DVD!!!

I was in Best Buy yesterday and I don't see any change in the number of shelves for HD-DVD right now, same thing with Wal-Mart and Circuit City!!!  Target might be changing their shelf space, but heck I never shop there anyway, just a fancy wanna-be Wal-mart anyway!!!

Decent link, however small specialty stores like F.Y.I. and Hastings clearly are not in the same league as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics, and Target!!!  In fact those stores all listed in that article are what I consider overpriced for media in general, whether it is CDs, DVDs, or Hi-Def movies!!!

Again I am not trying to belittle anyone's information, I mean it is obvious that as it boils down to just Universal and Paramount releasing movies on HD-DVD, the number of titles available will drastically decrease, but if Paramount and Universal continue to support HD-DVD (at this time, still the case until they say different) then the consumers will want those titles (some of course, perhaps not all, they are still 2 of the big studios and their backlog titles will be in demand I believe) and there will be outlets to buy them!!!

Here in the UK, any shops that sell HD-DVD discs (not many) have already cut the shelf space down to apporx 1/5th of the space BluRay gets.

Guess it will be the retailers who decide for the UK

(Shops I refer to are HMV, and GameStation) - Can take pictures if you require proof

Looks like I going Blu soon
Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen]

there is only one way that HD-DVD's will survive,
they must make a duel player that will play both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD,
looks like 8-track and Beta will have a new friend soon.

Same thing has happened in Norway too. BD is getting a lot more floorspace compared to HD-DVD.

I'm noticing the same thing in Canada as well (HMV, Zellers, FutureShop...to a lesser degree, but still)

I'm trying to find some web sites that offer HDD disks  at a much lower price than BD,, just to get rid of them, since everyone is  'jumping'  on the Blue-Ray wagon,, yet I cannot find any proof of prices being dramatically lower than Blue Ray. Sure  Amazon and Warner's are having sales with 53 %  off etc.. but on BOTH formats..  Even eBay has these products listed competively.

There is a lot of HDD software product out there- both new and used- and no one at this point is giving the stuff away at lower prices..

Prior to the Warner announcement, I think a cheap dual-format player would have sold very well.  Since the announcement, I think a lot of people would avoid such a purchase hoping that HD DVD will die altogether.

If Tosh made a decent combo player for under $400, I'd look into picking one up.

Ok, who gave me the negative vote for that comment? Fess up.

The "they" I was referring to was the (HD) DVD Forum and Universal in particular. I certainly wasn't harrassing or disparaging anyone here.

And if you want the info on Wal-mart, read the thread titled "Is Wal-mart killing HD-DVD?" at the Home Theater Forum, where people from around the country are posting comments about how they see this with their own eyes (and yes, it's not happening everywhere...yet), and articles on other websites  and technology news sites stating that they are receiving inside reports that other major retailers are next.

There are forums like HTF out there that get much more discussion than this place does on these issues, and the threads are filled with relevant links. many of the users here are also present on those boards as well, so they know what I'm talking about.

The information is there if you care to use Google. I don't think I should have to hand-hold everyone toward it.
