What would the correct way to parse this entry:

The profile presently has it as, Sharon Riley as Choir, but not sure how to put the rest in.

If I had to make a judgement, I would parse this as:

Quote:
Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale//

As I believe that the name of the choir is "Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale"

Sort of like if you asked about the band "Hewy Lewis and the News" I would parse it as Hewy Lewis and the News//

What he said.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Unfortunately, the answer isn't as simple as that: there's no way that that's going to fit in the first name field. You'll find that it gets cut off after "Sharon Riley and the Fait". So... back to the drawing board. Since this is not the only movie Sharon Riley appears in (and I want these credits to link together), I opted for two separate cast entries:

Sharon//Riley: Choir
The Faith Chorale//: Choir

That way I don't have to use some arbitrary form of parsing, I also retain proper linking with Sharon Riley's credit in 'Deacons for Defense' (where she appears as 'Church Singer'), and I don't disregard 'The Faith Chorale'. That seemed like the best solution, given the circumstances. In any case, entering it as "Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale//" is simply not possible.

The name does indeed get truncated as T!M says.  That being the case, I think I would parse as T!M says, but make a note in the contribution notes about the whole "I'm parsing like this because..."  That way you're covered.

Yeah, I found it gets truncated, bad bug in the program for not stopping me from entering the rest of it.

Would it be sufficient to point to this thread in the notes, to justify the two seperate entries.

I'm tempted to leave it alone and just contribute the other cast corrections I have so it will be as credited with the exception of this one, I hate to do that though.

You should include the information directly in the notes if possible. It helps the screeners and also helps people see the information all in one place when they go back and look at it at a later date.

Again, it's not just that that it gets truncated, but even if we could enter it like that, it wouldn't exactly be helpful in establishing a link with Sharon Riley's other acting credit. Just the simple fact that this 'Blues Brothers 2000' isn't her only credit seems reason enough to make an effort to link them together.

they also refered as "Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale" would that not fit the field?

In cases like this I usually use the CreditedAs (it has 40 characters which most times is sufficient):
Sharon//Riley [Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale] as Choir
