not necessarily a contribution question but I just relized my newly purchased seasons of 24 all have a differant release date and the children all have differant dates from there. I beleive the children have the correct release date from the previous release but the parent now has a differant UPC and release date.How can I get an accurate release date on these?


WOW with further investigation I ve learned for instance Season 2 UPC 024543442936 is profiled to be a keepcase with a release of 05/22/07 and the children release 09/09/2003??

I understand that but should I assume the profiles for either are correct or is there a way to tell for sure?

We are only supposed to catalog ORIGINAL release data for Online purposes, sounds like someone sneaked one past the screeners. The 24 Digipaks were REPACKAGED with thinpak keeps, the users that bought the re-packaged should obviously maintain the information locally but the Online should contain the data for the ORIGINAL release.

Not IF the Disc Ids are different, Mike. That would setup a whole NEW profile for the re-release data.

I think that except for the new Special Edition of Season 1, the re-releases of seasons of 24 have the same discs just repackaged in THINpaks instead of digipaks.  The Season 1 SE has totally redone discs with new discids and all.  So even though the re-releases now have nice, descriptive covers for the individual THINpaks, we can't contribute 'em -- and have to maintain case type data locally -- then get dinged every update because our local data doesn't match the online data.

Digipaks, the Original release for Season 2, Mike. So the Cover Art for your children will have to be kept locally.  I THINK 5/22/2007 sounds about right for the Tin Pak re-release.

No, the thinpak boxset wasn't released until 2007. That release date is correct. However the discs inside were first released in 2003, so their release date is older than the boxset's.

Edit: however, if I'm reading the descriptions right, it sounds like the case type is wrong.
