I was correcting the BY for Bill Bailey and came across him in Stir Crazy. I looked up Stir Crazy on IMDB and that Bill Bailey wasn't born in 1938 and no BY is attached.

Plus the Stir Crazy Bill Bailey is that one's only acting credit.

I was doing a Google Search and came across a Bill Bailey who was a radio personality.

http://www.79waky.com/billbailey.htm

According to that link he was 36 years old in 1967. So he was born in 1931.

I would like to be able to separate this Bill Bailey from the Superman actor.
But I can't find any info that this radio DJ is the same guy who was the announced in Stir Crazy.

Can anyone find any info about the Stir Crazy Bill Bailey and if he is indeed the radio DJ born in 1931?

actually I was on the right track that he was a Radio Personality.

Found these 2 sites.

1

His birth name is Milton Odom Stanley.

The following site says that the above guy did indeed star in Stir Crazy.
2

Scroll down to page 10, paragraph 8 on the right.
"His role at the prison rodeo landed Bill his one
and only movie appearance — a few scenes in the
comedy “Stir Crazy” starring Gene Wilder and
Richard Pryor"

A link to a Texas resolution paying tribute to him
3

In 1959 he was also a radio dj in Des Moines as Lee Western

He's now a Constable in Texas.

I still can't find a BY for him though.

Would it be OK to use credited as for him to separate his one credit to separate him from the Superman actor?

Perhaps use his birthname for his common name and credited as Bill Bailey?

He went to Galena Park High School in the late 1950's, so going by that he would have been born sometime in the early 1940's.

He was a sophmore in 1955.

Unless someone can find a BY for him, perhaps something offline.

No, it's not alright. He has one film credit and he's credited as Bill Bailey...that is his commonly credited name.

I agree with 8ballMax... Ken was very clear when he clarified it to mean only the most commonly credited form is to be the common name.. no matter what the real name is.

What I did locally was put a BY of 1940 attached to this Bill Bailey.

Since he was a High School sophmore in 1955 according to that one link and assuming he was around 15 at that time. That would make his BY 1940.

Perhaps someone in Texas can find info off-line about him and perhaps find a correct BY for him.

But for now I'm keeping the assumed BY local just to be able to separate his credit from the other 2 Bill Bailey's.

I guess he could be contributed without a BY attached. But this may affect those who don't have BY's attached to the other 2 Bill Bailey's and link credits incorrectly.

You could mail him and ask what his birth year is
According to this page, his email is bbailey@msn.com

EDIT: And after a lot of searching around, I can confirm that he is 69 years old, but haven't found his date of birth yet (Among the sources: reunion.com where he is listed together with his wife janis)

According to The Class of 1957 site (on webarchive), he was born on february 2. That means his birth year would be 1939

You're assuming he graduated High School at the age of 18. That's if he wasn't held back at any point in his school career or if he started school on time. That's assuming too much.

No, I'm assuming that he is 69 years old. That age comes from his profile at reunion.com. (See my post above the one you quoted). It's only his birth date that comes from ths1957.com. 2008 - 69 = 1939 (could also have been 1938 if he was born after September 7, but since he is born in February, it's 1939)
