I am working on some profiles in version 3.6 including the new bonus trailers.... splitting up the bonus trailers from the Theatrical trailers. When something popped into my mind.

I was editing a DVD... when I saw one of those trailer montages... where they have clips from many movies from the studio. In this case it was a Fox Studios montage. It is like a single trailer for many movies... instead of a trailer per movie. This is something I never considered as a trailer. And wouldn't check the box for.

But I was wondering if anyone here did actually check the box for these. I believe I am right in that the box shouldn't be checked for these... but wanted to see where other people's mind were on these.

Thoughts?

I am with you on this.  The only time I would check the box is if it were a standard, like I would see in the theater, movie trailer.

I agree these should not count as trailers.  Clarification has been added to the pending rules update.

So ads for Blu-ray and such don't count? What about trailers for video games? (Watchmen theatrical has an ad for Blu-ray and trailers for two tie-in video games, but no stand-alone trailers for movies.)

No... I wouldn't include them Ace. Just trailers for films/Shows. If I remember right... that is how Ken has it in the 3.6 rules as well.

The rule says. "Theatrical Trailers or TV spots for the other films/shows"

It doesn't say games.

I agree. If there actually are trailers for a single movie I check it of course, but I have discs like you describe as well, & I don't check the trailer box.

<SLAP>

Actually big daddy, i think that would come under the proposal i have made for years to allow to use specific information regarding Special Features, instead of our current Generics.
