HELP!!...Iphone DVD prfiler App and PC based DVD Profiler |

| | Posted: | | | | Ive got the Iphone4 with the dvd profiler app and scanned about 150 dvds into my collection on the Iphone. I have now bought the PC version and want to share download my data to the pc. Ive done all that I can find in the help files to get them to talk together BUT NO LUCK. On the phone, click on Databases at the bottom. Select your database and click on the button that says "Connect to DVD PRofiler for PC". You should see a screen where you enter the name of the PC or the IP address. Key that in and click on Continue. Then it prompts you for a name for the database (you can leave it or change it) and then click on Save Database. Once you have done that, then go back to the databases screen and select that database. Click on the Open database button. From there, in the upper left there is a button that is a box with an arrow coming out of it. It brings up an option to "Update Collection". From there, it should bring up a screen that has your computer name or IP address and under Options, it should have Send Changes set to On. Click on the update button. Once the update is complete, your collection from the Iphone will also be in the PC version on your desktop. | | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

That is a great help, however what is happening now is the Iphone is closing the application part way thru and only 24 items of the collection have made it across to the PC.
I have tried six times now and the same thing happens each time, will have to try and sort out what is happening. cant see to find anything on the forums to help either.
Oh well I'll keep working on it.

| | Posted: | | | | Apologies Gerri if I'm butting in, but I will offer the suggestion to the user to make sure that there is a good Wi-fi signal. Perhaps, for the initial update, be at least in the same room with the router. There are also ways to set your router to give priority to transfers to / from speciific IP addresses.
Once again, apologies if this info is off-base. I do a lot of wireless IP stuff, that's why this post caught my attention. | | | Thanks for your support.

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks mediadogg, the wi fi signal is very good the router is in the same room, so should not be a problem. will have to research your other suggestion about giving priority to specific IP addresses. I've been playing again and managed to loose over 100 of the original dvd's from the I phone , ive only got the 24 left now on both devices. | | Posted: | | | | No it had the 24 it first loaded, (missing about 100 from the Iphone) tried 5 or six times but the Iphone just seemed to close the app down without downloading all the collection. So synched again, and when looked ay I phone only had the 24 on all the others gone. But I think I know what I did wrong I told it to sync NOT JUST THE CHANGES or something like that. But I will keep at it and experiment till I get it correct. I use the I phone because it can scan the bar codes which is easier than typing in barcode number or dvd title. Will have another go later tonight. But eventually will have to scan all the lost ones again.  Have just added one more on the I phone and updated and it added it on the PC. The did another on the PC and pressed update collection on the I phone and that worked also. So I'm in business .
