I have a collection of 1700 movies and I want to change the software.
Is it possible to import my database from movienizer to DVDprofiler?

If I got this correctly movienizer is using barcodes (EAN/UPC) as identifier too.
So the easiest way (if supported by movienizer) would be to export the EANs/UPCs of your collection to a txt file (WordPad) and import the list afterwards into DVDProfiler.

Sadly you wouldn't be able to do this in one go unless you purchased the premium registration.
The limited license loses several capabilities as soon as you pass a collection size of 50 DVDs.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

In addition to that, you have to decide what is "the database." If you have personal information over and above the movie info, there are other options that work best with the resgitered version, as Silence_of_Lambs has suggested.

Edit: Interesting program. Lots of options for customization, searching and sorting. Built-in CSV import is clever, better than BulkEdit at the moment, but not better than the upgrade I am working on.

I couldn't find any way to Export, if anybody can help on that, I will try to include in the list of built-in BE support. Most of the movie data comes from scraping the Internet. Other data can be entered and saved locally. There is no central online database.

BE import could grab the UPC, attempt to guess the locality, and try to map any personal info such as comments, notes, purchase info, user reviews, collection, loan events, watched events, URLs, location / media and whatever else, then create a profile ready for refresh from Invelos. That's the way the other imports work.

But as I said, I haven't yet found a Movienizer Export function.
Thanks for your support.
