| | Posted: | | | | UPC or EAN, sometimes called barcodes are a series of numbers that are read by a scanner.
The United States uses UPCs while other countries use EANs.
UPC is a series of 12 numbers while EAN is a series of 13 numbers.
For example, when you go to the supermarket the cashier scans those numbers to get the price of the items you are buying.
Or, in the case of invelos, they are the numbers you type in the computer to add DVDs to your collection.
Go to "Add DVDs to Owned". A screen will pop up that allows you to enter your DVD in various ways: "Add by UPC" or "By Title" or "By Inserted Disc" etc.
Click on the "Add by UPC" and you will see an example of what a UPC looks like. |
