I know it's not "Gay Pur-ee", either "Fitz" movie, or a Disney film. Also, not Felix. I recall the cat being male, with a soft voice. The animation style was beautiful, and quite realistic, not at all childish or cartoony.

 I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | The cartoon style is hardly what I would call realistic but I was thinking about "Pelle Svanslös" (lit. Pelle without tail) a Swedish film from 1981, set in 1940's Uppsala. EDIT: Ok this is more like what you described, nice intro! | | | | | | Last edited: by Nexus Six |

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | That's it! Little more cartoony than I recall, but that is definitely the movie I was thinking of. Now, how did this film end up on U.S. televisions in the early 80s?
 Thanks for the help!

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | Yeah that would be interesting to know, I didn't even know that it had been dubbed into English but I guess cats are universal! There's a 1985 sequel that actually takes place in America, maybe you should check that one out as well.    |
