Profiler doesn't recognize the UPC for the Blu Ray Band of Brothers / The Pacific gift set UPC883929184125.  I entered it manually, but have no profile info after a few weeks of updates/sync.
Does this simply mean that nobody has entered this info into the "system" yet, or will I just have to put them in a separate sets (1 Band, 1 Pacific)?

First, yes you need to enter it yourself but only supply the basic amount allowed by the rules. Second, do the individual releases of Band of Brothers and The Pacific have their own UPCs? If so, I'm 99% sure they'll already be in the system and you just add those two in the box set content area: Double click the main profile -- the Band of Brothers/The Pacific one you created -- and down the left side are different areas you can edit, go to "Box Set Content" and then using the search, find the individual profiles for the two releases and add both. Then select OK.

Just one minor (off-topic) annotation:
If your user-name is your real E-Mail address you should immediately change it.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks Silence--I fixed it.  TheMovieman, both The Pacific and Band of Brothers are available as separate sets with their own UPCs, but this particular gift set includes both miniseries with only one UPC.  How exactly does the info, especially front and back covers, get into the "system".  Normally, when I enter the UPC it is recognized and all of the info just shows up.  Is all of this info put into the "system" by members like me?

That's correct. At this point it doesn't seem anyone else has it in their collection (or at least has submitted it) so you'll have to do the cover scans and enter the acceptable information.

"It's a user-built data-base!"
1) Read the Contribution Rules carefully
2) Always keep in mind that a contribution doesn't have to be complete, but the part that you do contribute have to be correct and well documented at the contribution.
3) Read and think about cloning which can save a lot of work.

If I understood you correct your contributions should look similar to e.g. "Back to the Future" (5050582788860), meaning:
Parent-Profile by UPC
|- Child-Profile 1 for Bob by Disc-ID
|- Child-Profile 2 for Bob by Disc-ID
|- and so on depending on how many discs there are
|- Child-Profile 1 for The Pacific by Disc-ID
|- Child-Profile 2 for The Pacific by Disc-ID
|- and so on depending on how many discs there are

And there is the small problem, you need a BD-ROM to read the Disc-IDs of those Blu-rays. If you don't have one you can still add the children as manual profiles, but those are not contributable although you could still contribute the parent.

All the methods described here are the "right" way to do it.  When you contribute, that profile will then be available for anyone else who picks up that set.

However, if you don't feel like doing it the "right" way, you could also add a new profile for the parent.  Then add both of the miniseries to your collection and attach them as children to the new profile you've created.  That's a LOT less work.  You just couldn't contribute it in that form.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.
