| | Posted: | | | | When I try to print report I get an error that says "unable to connect. Please ensure DVD Profiler is running and that sharing is active". Any ideas how to fix this? I like the program but if the issues aren't fixed and the app isn't updated then I'm moving o to something else that supports it's users. I am using an iPhone 11 pro max. |

Is there really no other way to export from an iPad or iPhone? |

AFAIK there is no way to print or export from a standalone iOS app. In my opinion, the iOS app is excellent as an extension to the Windows version, but severely limited as a standalone application. I know that some Mac users run Windows in a virtual machine, just to be able to run the Windows version of DVD Profiler, but that's a rather cumbersome solution. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

| | Posted: | | | | Hi, we worked out how to do it. You start from the website, login and access "My Profiler - View Online Collection". Then there are two ways to get the list of movies: (I mention below all Mac Safari options but Windows would be similar)
1. The simplest is probably "File - Export as PDF".
That gives you a full PDF list of all movies in your collection. You may then need to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) which will allow you to then highlight the full list, copy and then paste into a text editor (or wherever). OCR performed with either Adobe Acrobat or PDFpenPro.
2. The other way is to "view source" on the web site for the "Online Collection".
- From Safari, reveal the "Develop" menu item. Under that, select "Show page source".
- In the lower section, click on the "Debugger" tab. On the lower left menu, go to "Sources - List.aspx".
- Then in the HTML code window to the right, scroll near the bottom to the last html table cell reference (TD) and notice the really long line of text which contains every movie title (really long).
- Highlight that line of text and paste into a word editor. You will need to perform a lot of search / replace to get rid of all the html code but the movie names are there.
I now have my list of movies which I can send to friends and family so they can see what I have in the collection.

I have tries several browsers, and all I can get is a PDF of the current screen (and not even the full screen). I contemplated suggesting screen scraping (which is basically what your #2 is), but I didn't think it was realistic.
