Re-loaded DVD Profiler after clean install of Windows 7, and note that the date format in my 'Watched History' has defaulted to U.S. date format. I have had a hunt around Options and Help but haven't been able to find the means of switching to European date format. Search hasn't been much help either. Could someone advise please?

This is not DVD Profiler feature, you probably have U.S. English setting for dates in your Windows 7. I have Vista, but in Finnish, so can't give you accurate path, but it should go something like...

Control Panel --> Time-, Language- and Regional settings --> Change Date-, Time- or number formats.

Thanks Draxen but no luck. I checked Windows date settings which are in fact correctly set to U.K. format (dd/mm/yyyy) - this was selected during the install process. Date is formatting correctly in all other applications to date.
Another problem encountered is that all my previous 'watched by' entries are missing, although I am able to raise a complete list which has been filtered somehow. I continue to experiment, and will post if solutions are found. I am about to delete DVD Profiler and install again, in case I missed something.

Re-installed and recovered watched histories, but date format sill defaults to U.S.  Noted that DVD Profiler only supports up to Vista and I did not have this date problem with Vista. Profiler appears not to support Windows 7 yet.

Ah, ok... it must be the compatability with Win7 then. Before replying I even checked it by changing temporarily my date settings in Vista to US English, and that did change the date format in DVDP's General info-window. According to that the program really does use the date format of your operating system, but apparently that of Win7 is not yet supported (even if it is otherwise supported(?))

I'm not sure what the problem is but DVDP definitely does support Win 7. I've been running it since January & my dates show correctly by UK standards.

Hmm. All a bit of a mystery - I have hunted high and low on Windows and Profiler for a solution, without luck. I can only conclude that during the backup and install of either the OS or the database that it has somehow corrupted a setting. Will report if anything changes.

I should add that the U.S. date format applies all dates throughout my Layout, not just the Watch History listings. It is irretrievably the default setting.

Just as a matter of interest, as you were running the beta version of Windows 7 (the full release only occuring at end of October) does that imply a clean install or an upgrade from XP? If the latter then that could be why you retained the U.K. date format.  I just cannot comprehend why DVD Profiler has converted to the U.S. format in my database.

Sorry for not replying earlier. I've been taking a few days off from posting to the forums.

My version of Win 7 is a clean install not any kind of upgrade.

Hi there,

I have the same Problem with the actual version 3.8.1 of DVDP.
I've found an old installer and have installed version 3.7.1, but the same problem as with the actual version. The date is always shown as "mm/dd/yyyy".
My OS is actual Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my new PC and my date-setting is "dd.mm.yyyy". All other Applications that show a date are using this format to display dates. Only DVDP seems no to care about the OS-settings.
I have changed the OS settings several times and the date display changed along the settings whereever I checked it, but not in DVDP.
On my old PC, Windows XP is running and the date display (last installed version on that machine was 3.7.1) was always correct since version 2.x.

So, is there any help available now?

Did you do a reboot between changing the date display?
There is a problem with DVD Profiler on some pre-installed Windows 7 versions.
To fix it, you have to change your system's date setting to US. Then reboot. I am not sure if you have to open Profiler then once. Then change your system's date setting back. Reboot again. And then it should work.

Try:
Close DVD Profiler
Change localization (Control Panel -> Region and Language) in Windows from $your_Locale to US
Open DVD Profiler (date is now US format as to be expected)
Close DVD Profiler
Change localization in Windows from US back to $your_Locale
Open DVD Profiler and date format should now be correct in $your_Locale format.

Exactly in this order.

If this doesn't work try a reboot after each localization change.
