| Posted: | | | | Trying to find some information in the rules on this, and I'm sure this has been discussed before but wanted to know:
If a Main Movie has no audio commentary, and the Movie is described in its trait as Special or Two disc Edition., Can you use the commentary 'tick box' for i.e a featurette that is on disc two or side two., and the Features box already has featurette ticked off ( i.e. 2nd disk and or /side two) Can the Commentary box be ticked as well??? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you looking at a featurette that has commentary like deleted scenes with optional commentary by the director?
IMO Commentary should be reserved for the film itself even though there is no definition of that term. When I see a profile with Commentary ticked, I assume there is either an audio or text commentary that runs with the film itself. | | | Kevin |

If a Main Movie has no audio commentary, and the Movie is described in its trait as Special or Two disc Edition., You included this statement that I've bolded, so I assume that it has relevance to your question. Are you saying that this is a question that is specific to releases that are marked as either Special Editions or Two-Disc Editions? Are you asking if the commentary box can be checked off as sort of an equivalent to a second featurette??? If so...no. The featurette tick box covers the presence of one or more featurettes on one or more discs. The commentary box is just for commentaries. That's how I always viewed the term as well... Sounds fair to me as well.. BUT is it written in the rules as such? or is it just taken for granted that the possibility may never arise. Playing Devils advocate here., It would be nice to know,- if there is a commentary by Director regardless of where it is in the DVD set., whether it is running title or running featurette., There should be a place to mark this.. So I'm back to my original question: Can you use the commentary 'tick box' for i.e a featurette that is on disc two or side two., ?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Technically there is nothing in the rules that says that the commentary box can only be ticked for a main feature commentary. Before you start changing them though, I for one would recommend that we get a "main feature only" clause into the rules. If you start mixing 2 kinds of commentaries for that one tick box, you render the information useless in my opinion. | | | ...James

What about for a featurette that is on disc one or side one? Can we only tick the commentary box on Thursdays, if we had cheese earlier in the day? | | | Last edited: by Squirrelecto |

I also agree with a 'main feature only' clause in the Rules to make sure this is absolutely clear. If necessary I would be fine with putting 'Commentary on documentary' in the Other Features section. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

Can we only tick the commentary box on Thursdays, if we had cheese earlier in the day? Luckily, I eat cheese most every day. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

Can we only tick the commentary box on Thursdays, if we had cheese earlier in the day? Part of the reason why I was so adamant on the Disc two or side two business, is- because, If we are using Featurette from another disc in the collection- why not the commentary at that point as well?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird.
