Just curious what the general opinion on this issue is - what's enough to qualify for the use of the 'Production Notes/Bios' checkbox? Specific example: my copy of 'Being There' has a feature named 'Awards', and that constitutes of these two static pages:

So, is that enough to warrant the use of 'Production Notes/Bios', or isn't it?

In my opinion it would be a no. It definitely not a biography/filmography on a cast, Crew or character and In my opinion just a list of the awards won isn't notes on production of the film. So if Anything I would just put awards in the "Other Features" field.

Here is all the Rules state...

Quote:
Textual Notes about the Film Production
Cast, Crew and/or Character Biographies/Filmographies

So I don't see a list of awards as "Textual Notes about the Film Production".

That is my opinion at least.

What ever happened to the days of the first earliest  DVD releases during the years of 96/97 thru to 99/00 ???
The DVD's had static pages of biography of the main actors and director. You could be watching the movie and stumble across an actor who is say fourth stringer in the credits,  and you could say, "Where do I know this guy from"  ,, hit menu,, check out his BIO and then resume back to the movie..

Ah ,, the old days.  gone but not forgotten..

those early dvds usually just took that information from IMDB anyway.  some dvds even cited IMDB as the source of the info.

Well don't slam IMDB too much, as they are the most downloadable web site in the world, apart from Google., .

Let's face it we all peak at IMDB just to get any type of info we need at the moment,.
i.e.  Birth/ deaths/ history of production notes /availability of release dates/ notes,, anything, just to get at least that ballpark info,,  of which we then discard and not carry forward to the next level.
