| Posted: | | | | In the Online database there are disc-level profiles (by Disc ID) for the "24" TV series. They have Overviews apparently taken from the booklet. There are profiles also for the Special Features discs (disc @7) in Season Two and in Season Three. The S.2 Special Features disc has an Overview apparently taken from the booklet as well. On the contrary, the S.3 Special Feature disc's Overview is now empty. Thus, I contributed an Overview for that disc, taking it from the booklet (actually I had to sum it up and contribute just the headlines, as the booklet also has long details on each deleted scene). But the Overview rule just says: Quote: When there is no overview on the case, add a simple, self-written overview of 1-2 paragraphs.
and that's what I did. To my surprise, I got 4 No votes with the following reasons: 1."This is indeed not an overview" 2."Special Features belong in the Special Features section." 3."Special Features belong in the Special Features section." 4."as they said" Could you please help me understand what I did wrong? Edit: Here is the Overview text I contributed for 24:S.3:d.7 (S.3 Special Features disc) Quote:
Special Features:
Three Featurettes Multi-Angle Scene Study Deleted/Extended Scenes: 45 Segments and here is the Overwiew already in the online database for 24:S.2:d7 (S.2 Special Features disc): Quote:
Special Features 45 Deleted Scenes with commentaries Multi-angle scene study: A scene from episode 6, The Interrogation Two-part documentary "24 Exposed" totalling 96 minutes Featurette "On the Button - The Destruction of CTU" Episode commentaries from cast and crew including Kiefer Sutherland, Dennis Haysbert, Sarah Wynter, Sarah Clarke, Xander Berkeley, Penny Johnson Jerald, Michelle Forbes, Joel Surnow, Bob Cochran, Jon Casser and Howard Gordon. | | | -- Enry | | | Last edited: by White Pongo, Jr. |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, Enry, I can't help but agree. I did S6 a few days back and I left the overview for the bonus disc blank. |

| Posted: | | | | I have to admit.. I would probably have to vote no to such a thing too... Special Features do not go into the overview... that much is in the rules.
Now should there be an exception for special feature discs?... that I don't know. but as of right now there isn't one... and the fact that there is a profile/profiles in it don't mean that it is ok... just means that per the rules those profiles are wrong. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Pete.
You, Enry, like a lot of users seem to be starting from the position of its in the Online then it must be OK, and such is absolutely not correct. Things that shouldn't get past the screeners, this is not being critical of the screeners, things sometimes escape me as a voter. If it is there and the Rules say it should not be there, then it should be removed not duplicated somewhere else.

| Posted: | | | | Profiles for separate Bonus discs that are for a whole season or a Boxset of films are allowed by the rules. If there is an overview on the bonus discs case or the booklet, I would include it, as we include overviews in profiles. But if it's just a list of what's on the bonus disc, much like we see a list of special features on the back of any DVD, I would not include those as we don't include them as part of the overview in any profile. | | | Chris |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Nadja: Quote: Sorry, Enry, I can't help but agree. I did S6 a few days back and I left the overview for the bonus disc blank. No need to say "sorry", Nadja. I was just asking for your opinions... and I got them Pete: Your explanation is clear and on second thought I see you're right. Indeed the general Overview Rule clearly states not to add Special features, there is no exception for special feature discs. Should there be an exception? Dunno. On the one hand, it feels somehow weird leaving that Overview blank. On the other hand, if we ignore Special Features in Overview elsewhere, why add them there? Skip: Don't assume anything. Of course I know existing profiles are not always right, but what other examples can we look at when in doubt? Chris: Like I said, my contribution was based on the booklet, but skipped the more detailed information it also conteined: for instance it also listed all the 45 deleted/extended scenes one by one. | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | Enry, It seems that I'm getting NO votes on the very same thing for the Season 6 Bonus Materials Disc. I find it odd that one of the NO voters submitted that very same info for Season 5's Bonus Materials disc. If it gets declined, I'm not going to worry about it. I'll just remove the info from the same Discs for Seasons 2-5, since if it's wrong for one release, it's wrong for them all. | | | Chris |

| Posted: | | | | I withdrew my Special feature disc Overview contribution. After reading this thread, Addicted2DVD in particular, I am not convinced it was right in the first place. | | | -- Enry |
