| Posted: | | | | Just a quick question ... how is the country of origin established for a particular DVD title?
As an example, The Tudors TV show from Showtime profile lists country of origin as USA but this was a joint production of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the Irish Bord Scannan na hEireann. The production received grants and tax exceptions from the Canadian federal government, the Irish government and the Ontario, Canada provincial government. Peace Arch Entertainment is a Toronto, Ontario, Canada based studio as well - so how is this a USA production?
Many thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Darn good question. I don't have this title so really can't advise you. But provided you sources are correct, it can't be a US CoO. Rory (P.S. I could be wrong tho. ) | | | DVD Profiler for iOS as of 3/5/2013 DVD Profiler for Android as of 5/17/2013 |

| Posted: | | | | The general rule of thumb is to use the CoO for the main production company. Since this has more than one, and I am just guessing here, it seems like the person who contributed decided to go with Showtime. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | There are two production companies involved: Peace Arch (Canadian) and TM Productions (Irish). Personally, I'd leave it blank until multiple countries are allowed, although an argument could be made that as TM Productions deal with the more hands-on aspects of the production, they are the primary company. |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, in cases like this, I take the order of perference from the end credits.
In the case of the Tudors the end credits state something like 'a joint Ireland/Canadian production' (words to that effect!).
Therefore, when I updated the R2 version of this title I went with Ireland as the CoO. |

| Posted: | | | | Northbloke is on the right track about leaving CoO blank until multiple countries are possible. In this case it isn't clear which country, Ireland or Canada, Canada or Ireland, is "primary" if any one is. So this isn't like the Lord of the Rings / New Zealand thing. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.
