I don't have Cloverfield, but I do have Daredevil and Dark City and they seem to be the same type of case. Someone else has Daredevil and Cloverfield and says they seem to be the same. Here's a pic I took to compare the thickness between HD Slim and HD Keep Case: |

| Posted: | | | | Caspian is only thick because it's a multi-disc set. We didn't make this distinction on DVD cases. What do we call the HD cases the same width as what's usually called a slim case (the ones that get used for TV sets and stuff)? It seems like a misnomer to call standard-width cases slim. |

| Posted: | | | | So far we have no standard for HD cases that carry more than one disc (f.e. Tv Shows) that are as thick as an HD keep case. I saw some ping pong contributions for the Blade Runner 5 Disc Set some time ago.
So far we distinguish between Cases that hold 1 Disc, there the Slim case is much thinner than the Keep case.

SLIP COVER: A slip case can be associated with all other cases, just tick the Slip Case box then.
Still a few "case" words haunting there. Yes, I'm a nitpicker. Anyway, excellent work Donnie! |

cheers Donnie Yeah, we need standards on this because I have 200+ Blu-rays and a majority are set as HD Slim cases with only a handful of exceptions. I went through my collection and found 4 different cases: Side by side: Edit: There is one more I forgot, those cases with the latches on the side... | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

| Posted: | | | | My understanding from that pic is that Batman is an HD slim case. The others are all regular HD cases. This is consistent with how DVDs were done where the regular width and thicker multi-disc variations were the regular case and the extra-slim versiosn used pretty much just in box sets were the slims. It would be odd if all single-disc cases and half of two-disc one were conisdered slim. |

| Posted: | | | | The problem is now that a vast majority of the cases now in the DB are set as HD Slim. The first two pics are set that way while Wall-E is set as an HD Keep Case... This is the issue we run into when a standard was not set. Also, I think when BDs were added, I don't think there was anything as thin as that Batman case IIRC. |

I think the confusion occurs because almost all US (and Canada?) releases are in the HD slim cases. Certainly all of those that I've imported have been in slim cases with the exception of box sets. Here in the UK the reverse is true. I've only seen an odd one or two HD slim releases recently and they've been from non mainstream distributors. |

| Posted: | | | | I'd be all for this if a third distiction was added, but it seems to me there's a lot more difference between Batman and anything else than between Dark City and Cloverfield, so it seems more important to distinguish thouse. Can anyone provide examples of single-disc cases the same thickness as regular DVD cases? |

| Posted: | | | | Ace, the Batman case is one in a thousand. From the beginning of Blu-ray we did it the way that Wall E is keep case, all others are Slim cases.
I see no reason to change that now, cuz of one single (maybe a few more will come) ultraslim case.
I do not want the hassle of changing all Cases cuz of one extraordinary case that was released.
