| Posted: | | | | How do you decide what to buy/upgrade to 4K? I've worked out my own order of priority since I don't want to end up rebuying all my stuff (again). 1. Completely new titles or old titles that I don't hold previously on any format. 2. Titles I only own on DVD. 3. Titles that have significantly superior 4K releases over the blu-ray. Usually this means "true" 4K titles restored from film and not any 2K digital upscales but other factors such as audio formats and special features may play into this as well. 4. I guess there shouldn't really be any lower priority than 3 but sometimes I will accept an upgrade of a favorite title even if the conditions in 3 is not met. ![](/images/emoticons/smile.gif) 5. No. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | iPatsa: I would also add High Dynamic Range into option 3, as this may be a greater influence on purchase than just the 4K resolution improvements, etc. | | | Last edited: by ObiKen |

| Posted: | | | | yeah... I really haven't thought about it much yet... but that pretty much sounds like it. I will also make buys if I see titles so cheap I can't believe it. I bought several of them under $10. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | My current criteria on getting the 4K version is if it has a higher frame rate than the standard blu-ray version. |

| Posted: | | | | As far as I know, 4K does not have a frame rate. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

Yeh, it can get out of control I just checked mine and just gone over 300 (302). But things slowing down as the Pandemic has slowed down the release of new things here. |

| Posted: | | | | I just counted all my 4K titles... 112... not bad for 10 months, huh? Plus 2 more on order. Right now wanting to concentrate on upgrading my MCU and DC titles. ![](/images/emoticons/thumbup.gif) | | | Pete |
