Rating: If a film is "Unrated" but had a rating in a different cut, I apply that rating locally.  If the film was rated but it's not on the cover (Criterion releases), I apply that locally as well.

Custom Crew Roles: I sometimes list "Choreographer" (for old musicals) and "Adaptation" (old films, if there's no other writing credits)

Media Type Removal: Since I don't keep the DVDs in combo packs for the most part, I remove the checkmark for that format from blu-ray/DVD combo profiles (and don't download the child profile)

TV Show titles: I've changed several for ease to the following format - Title: Season #

Thank you!  Mine has a slightly different cover, and doesn't have the UK rating (or I would have known) but I can't find that exact image on the internet.  I'll go ahead and submit for UK.

You're welcome.
Other clues that this is a UK release are that the back cover you posted says "Made in the EU" (won't be true much longer...  ) and that it mentions Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd., with the Ltd. bit indicating that it is a firm under British law.

Mine actually has a slightly different cover, but I couldn't find a copy of that one on the internet.  It's a DVD in a HD Slim case, for whatever reason they're doing that now.  Mine has the Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd, but says Made in the USA in really tiny print.  It also has no rating on the cover that I have.

Got accepted as a UK release, so it all worked.

As a gift I received a Frank Sinatra concert DVD that isn't in the system.  I constructed the profile and when I went to submit it, I got the following error message:

"Please check that the UPC and locality are correct. These can be changed via DVD->Change UPC."

It was bought in the US, and the UPC is correct (as you can see from the image below - image is from Amazon), so what is the issue?

Personally, I really wish that if a film was rated but the DVD/Blu-ray release did not list the rating on the package, that we could submit the correct rating to the profile.

Like Movieman, I'm not talking about an alternate or unrated cut here, simply a release of the theatrical cut that does not have the rating on the package.  A lot of Criterion releases do this, for example.

However, taking ratings from filmratings.com has been consistently voted No to in these cases, so I just lock mine locally.

2, though soon to be 4.  I don't have a 4K player either, but all came into my shop used, and it's cheaper for me to get them in 4K/blu-ray combo from my shop than to get them elsewhere just in bluray.

Thoughts?

I've always thought it odd that the CLT lumps all credits together while the program keeps cast and crew separate.

---------------

Agreed.  It would be nice, IMO, if when I clicked on someone in my local I could see everything they worked on, whether they were crew or cast.

Harold P. Warren made exactly one film - Manos: The Hands of Fate

He is credited in the crew as Harold P. Warren for director, screenplay & producer

He is credited in the cast as Hal Warren for the character Michael.

Since he only made 1 film, the question of CLT is pretty useless, so I decided that since he has 3 crew credits under one name and only the one cast credit under the other name, to use Harold P. Warren as his common name.

Agree or disagree?  Thoughts?

Mine too, even the new profiles I made just today.

This does seem to be a thing.  I have 3 new profiles from the 19th also still waiting for approval, all are child profiles for a 50-movie Mill Creek set, and two have credits I did myself from the screen while I cloned one from a previous release.  So I don't think it's the cloning, I think it's just new profiles are going to take some time to approve.

In Profiler, I number by acquisition, so newest film has the highest number.

At home, I organize alphabetically.  Most of my discs are in binders, as I no longer have the space for the majority of cases.  I have separate binders for Documentaries, TV series, and for Music (mostly concerts, but a few music documentaries like <i>Jazz</i>).

The only films that still have cases are Criterion Collection (DVDs have their own shelves, blurays theirs), and a few that have special cases like digibooks and such.  I have a few out-of-print titles that I have saved the cases for, as well as the Twilight Time releases that I have, but those cases are in a box in my shed.

A trick I've found is that if you paste a dummy image into the profile (any cover image from another profile), and then refresh the images for that profile, the dummy image is then replaced with the correct image. Give that a try.

Thank you!  That worked beautifully!

... are you saying that Invelos requires the purchase of the PC version in order to backup the mobile database? I don't think that is true, at least it doesn't appear to be the way the products are marketed.

Well, I think the mobile Profiler apps are excellent extensions to the desktop program. But as stand alone applications I think they are ... wanting. The lack of a true backup is just one of several weakness.

Having been forced to rely on the iPad version since September, I agree that it is a good extension but ultimately doesn’t stand on its own without the desktop.

The only thing that has worked thus far is to delete a profile from my collection, then re-add the profile.

Have you just tried to delete the images affected and refresh the images like eommen stated?

I've had this happen on profiles that are new and I created them and uploaded the profile and when it gets accepted it downloads the profile fine, but skips over the images.
The only way to get the refreshed images to "stick" is to delete and then refresh them.

I will try this when I get home tonight.  Thanks for the suggestion

No suggestion, just an observation: The online collection is not a substitute for a proper database backup. Not that this knowledge will be of much comfort at this stage.

I had a backup.  Unfortunately it is on the computer that is dead, and is from last September.

I got a new desktop!  Yay!  I haven't had a working desktop since last September.  As I had been updating my online collection from my tablet, I downloaded my online collection to my newly-installed desktop.

All the profiles came.  Not all the images.

Trying to "Refresh DVD from Invelos" -> "Refresh Images Only" does not work.  There is still no image on the profiles affected.

Trying "Refresh All Images" does not work.  There is still no image on the profiles affected.

It does not affect all profiles.  Some profiles show the image fine.

If I try to contribute an affected profile, it does not show that the image is not there, or has changed.  No change is detected between my no-image profile and the online profile that has an image.

The only thing that has worked thus far is to delete a profile from my collection, then re-add the profile.  The image then shows up fine.  I really, really don't want to do this with potentially several hundred (or thousand) profiles.

I have already run a database repair and then tried refreshing all profiles.  This did not work.

Any suggestions?

I have also seen it as an option on discs that are collections of shorts (like Looney Tunes, etc)

Agree that box sets don’t have original titles, only films do (and therefore only child profiles)

Does the BD also have the b&w version on the disc?  If so, the answer is Mixed.  If it only has the hand-colored version, per the rules that is Colorized.
