I'm guessing that the source of this is the idea that "Village Roadshow Pictures" is an Australian company, but it isn't. There are two different "Village Roadshow" companies, an Australian one and an American one, and the "Village Roadshow Pictures" is an American company, making the US this film's sole country of origin.
