There's a new plugin available from the downloads page called TradingPoster.  Install it and flag some DVDs, select TradingPoster from the Collection->Flagged menu and it will generate text for a forum post like this:

These are the discs I have for sale/trade:

Children of Men: Widescreen

Region 1

Released: 3/27/2007

Anamorphic 1.85:1

Rocky Balboa

Region 1

Released: 3/20/2007

Anamorphic 1.85:1

Blood Diamond: Widescreen Edition

Region 1

Released: 3/20/2007

Anamorphic 2.35:1

Above is an example only.  I haven't even watched Rocky yet! Sheesh!

Nice work Ken, but it only works for this forum.

I can understand that but it would have been nice if I can use it also on eBay and sites like those.

Post me a template to use and I'll add it to the plugin.

Something like [img]<link to thumbnail> for the image.
The rest can stay the same except I would include the Overview to the info.

Is that enough info?

I love this plugin but I am more likely to use it now in the DVDS I recently bought forum as it would be blasphemy to actually sell off any of my collection!!

that is where I use it... and the only reason I downloaded the plugin... as I never sell any of my DVDs... if I decide to upgrade any those I just give to family and friends anyway. It kinda makes up for not loaning out any of my DVDs!

That's a great idea, but it'd allow free users to bypass the low quality only rule...

Nice plugin, but I'd like more features.
  • Link the DVD title to the correct page in our online collection

  • Customizable output (eg be able to include subtitles, audioformat etc)

  • Template driven (ie I'd like to be able to do XML output for use with a certain auctionsite's automatic listing software)

  • Mmm.. guess I'll request plugin access and see if I can come up with my own version

    Ken,

I found a minor bug.  If you flag something that's part of a boxset and don't flag anything else, it tells you that you don't have any profiles flagged.  You can work around it by flagging something that is a regular profile, but I just thought I'd mention it.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

It also says you have nothing flagged if there's only 1 profile flagged. It needs to have at least 2 profiles flagged to work.

Perhaps that's what I was seeing that as I was trying to just select one.  Maybe it had nothing to do with being part of a boxset.

If there are BB tags for tables installed, having the option to generate a long list in two columns would be nice.
