Just to throw petrol (gasoline to you Yanks) on the fire, by having
1. Episode Name
if the same set is released in another region, but with a change in sequence the episode dividers will be of no use, whereas simple episode name would allow for them to be used in any region.

Admittedly, the process to edit will take five minutes longer, but if the sequence of episodes is different, you'll have to spent some time to rearrange the whole listing anyway...

Yes true but easier just too move the position of the sequence rather than renaming the divider as well.

I personally prefer the look of "x.01: Episode Name" for episode dividers in multiple series stuff, and "01: Episode Name" for singleseries stuff such as Firefly. That is how I would set them up locally no matter what is decided in the rules, as IMO it looks tidier!

They would be edited to follow the rules for contribution of course, but obviously I would prefer not to have to do it.  If I had to decide from the listed options I think without the number at all would be the most acceptable option...  Easier to edit
Gavin.

"He looked bigger when I couldn't see him!": Jayne Cobb, Firefly
"You know, maybe it's 'cause of all the horrific things we've seen, but hippos wearing tutus just don't unnerve me like they used to.": Oz, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

i prefer the first choise "1. Episode Name" i don't see the point of "01." other than to align the second number, which seems extraneous.

I agree (to the 2nd part - I voted for no number). The only reason people started adding the "0" was because computers couldn't tell the difference between 1 and 11, so when people sorted lists they would end up with 1, 11, 12 ... 2, 21, 22 etc.
We can't sort the dividers, so there's no need for it to be there.

There was already a poll about this:
http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=63304&PageNum=1

And the preference seems to indicate:

01: Episode Name

Or, if we change seperator:
01 - Episode Name

I see, but what seemed to be the favorites from the discussion thread I linked to (and in the rules committee), weren't even included in this poll. So I think it's OK to have a new and final poll about this topic.

You did not include the number two favorite of that poll: "Episode 3: More Deadly Than the Sword", which is my number one favorite. So I think your new poll is rather subjective.

x01: Episode Name (e.g. 203:  Elementary, Dear Data) comes close, but I would prefer an actual "x" between the season # and the episode #, e.g. 2x03: Elementary, Dear Data.

I couldn't remember the old poll and had not found it when searching. If I had, I would have included this option. So this is indeed a bit unfortunate (but in any case I would have created a second poll because, as I said, many favorite options were not included).

But I tell you what: I own quite a lot of TV series sets (though by far not a many as some other fans around here ) and I have seen literally dozens of TV profile updates in the last couple of weeks. What I have yet to see is a single one(!) using your favorite format (or the format that "won" the first poll). Nobody in the rules committee is supporting it, either.

Face it Martin, your favorite format would never have the slightest chance in a vote. Have you seen some recent cast&crew updates ? Even with the "1. Episode Name" format many episode titles don't fit into the divider. Your suggestion would be a disastrous waste of space and I'm sure, nearly everybody sees it the same way. Besides, that's what I created the "Other" option for. If enough people vote for this option, I simply would create another poll - but it certainly doesn't look that way.

Sure, that's why it became second in the other poll.

Many others have not taken the time to divide TV-Series Cast Lists.

I have done some updates myself and I found out that if you have cast members that participate in all or only a few episodes, it looks better if you create a cast list with "Episode" in front of the number. And this because you can credit each person only once in a single profile.

For example:

Episode 1 - 10
Paul de Leeuw as Jan Klaasen
Sonja Barend as Katrijn
...

Episode 4 & 6
Egbert Jan Weeber as Politie Agent

Episode 1: Jan Klaasen gaat verhuizen
Huub Stapel as Verhuizer
...

And would also make it not "as credited". Order of credits is also important for this.

That's not true. You're not seriously suggesting grouping credits by which episodes those actors have in common, are you?

i think "Episode" infront of the number is redundant and as extraneous as putting a zero in front of single numbers.

of course, what you do in your database is your own joy.
