Hello all

Well....my new PDA arrived today!  Yay!!

I've got an HP Ipaq 2210.

However, Profiler Mobile doesn't seem to work.

I've managed to load it on and did a synch - which seemed to work fine.
However, when I click on 'DVD Profiler Mobile' on my Start menu nothing happens.

When I go through 'Programs' DVP Mobile doesn't show at all.

What am I doing wrong?

You'll have to be more specific, ie., step-by-step procedure you used for installation. Did you install DVDPM on the SD card or on the device? Where was MS .NET installed?

If you installed on the SD card, remove it and re-insert. Sometimes my Ipaq doesn't see my card and re-inserting the cards clears that up. Also try a soft reset.

Follow Max' recommendation about the soft reset.  I often find that my iPAQ "forgets" I've got a card in it unless I do the soft reset.

I did the soft reset but it didn't solve the problem.

When I clicked on install the default of C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler Mobile came up. Which I accepted.

I think the problem was with Microsoft .NET CF 2.00.
An error message comes up on the PDA saying:

"Installation error. Stop all applications and processes, maximise available storage space, and run installation again. Support info: 3"

How old is the 2210?  I use a 2210 and had to update the BIOS prior to installation of .net and DVDPM.  but remember when you updated the BIOS you will wipe the device of all data.  You can download the updated from HP.com.  After you install the app the first time you sync you tell DVDPM to use the SD card and it should work fine.

Also don't forget to use Activbe Sync 4.5 or higher, download via microsoft.com.

There's your problem. Without .NET 2.0 DVDPM will not run. Where are you installing .NET? In the device memory or on the SD card? How much physical memory does your device have? Sounds like it's being installed in the device memory and there isn't enough free memory to do so. Try installing .NET 2.0 on the SD card.

If you use MS Outlook 2000...don't use a version of Active Sync higher than 4.2 or else you can't sync your email.

Memory:
Storage: Allocated 27.44, In Use 11.39, Free 16.05
Program: Allocated 29.67, In Use 9.93, Free 19.74

Pluse I've got a 1gig SD card.

I tried loading .net to the SD card but it still didn't work.

I should point out that this is my first PDA and I'm a complete novice - so explanations/how to's would be appreciated!
Thanks

I've got .NET 2.0 installed in the device memory but DVDPM program & data on the SD card (2GB). You look to have very little physical memory on the device.

Mine, for example, shows

Storage
Total: 133.26 MB
In use: 63.76 MB
Free: 69.48 MB

Program
Total: 56.59 MB
In use: 18.26 MB
Free: 38.33 MB

I bought it from eBay and the spec stated:

64MB SDRAM (56 MB Main Memory)

Mine is not a 2210 though. I've got the hx2495b with 256 MB of physical memory.

Since you just got your device, and if you haven't installed anything other than DVDPM on the thing, you might want to follow Leo's advice and update your system Bios as he did. This, of course, will wipe the device clean allowing a fresh install of DVDPM...worth a try.

Glad to hear it worked out for you.  Welcome to the world of PDA's.

8ballmax:  I not sure what you mean but I'm using active sync 4.5 with outlook 2000 and my e-mail and contacts sync perfectly.  I think the BIOS version with AC 4.2 has created some issues in the past.
