| | Posted: | | | | case type related question, so figured i'd post it here instead of starting a new thread Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: Walmart Exclusive With Bonus DVD Region 1 Released: 11/1/2005 Full Frame 1.33:1 what would be the proper case type for this set. Its a 'box set' and there are seperate profiles for episode 3 and the bonus dvd. It is currently listed as keep case, but there really is no case on the set as it was just held together by a sticker that was half on both cases and shrink wrap around the two. -Agrare |

| | Posted: | | | | Judging from the picture, both are held in keepcases, so I would use that for the parent and both child profiles. Either that or use Custom (the sticker) for the parent. |

A plastic wrap IMO does not qualify as a "case type", because it is not a "case". Almost (yeah, I know, there are exceptions, and their number isn't even that small, but still, looking at total numbers globally ...) every DVD comes shrink wrapped and we don't even think about using this wrapping as a case type.
I'd enter both discs as keep cases, as well as the parent for the set, and mention the fact that the bonus disc was only available with the feature DVD at [whatever store] under "other features" so future users would know where to look (maybe they'll do re-issues, who knows?). | | | | Lutz |

I did this with one set of 5 keepcases that were held together by ashesive stickers on the top and bottom. As much as they were charging for the set, they should have been able to at least afford shrinkwrap... |

| | Posted: | | | | 1) don't worry, its not full screen. the info is wrong, i think because the bonus disc is full frame (i believe) but the movie is definitely widescreen
2) there was no slip cover, this was the first release, i bought it the day it came out (it was a walmart exclusive) at like 7 in the morning i believe
3) the sticker was pretty darn sticky and actually did keep the two keep cases together after removing the shrink wrap
4) its currently in the system as a keep case, and i will only change it in the online if consesus is its wrong
5) i probably should have said some of this in my first post
6) there is no 6 but i was on a roll

"The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film."
and
"If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs. Add the information to the individual film’s profile as normal for a single film 2-Disc set." |

I agree. Also this is not a box set. It's merely a Bonus DVD that was exclusive from Walmart. Since once the shrinkwrap and sticker are removed and they are placed on the shelf they are no longer housed together in one package. I guess this is also similar to the cases where studios package 2 separate films together and shrinkwrap them together at a new lower price. They are two separate films in two separate cases and not a box set. Just my opinion. |

Although it was apparently supplied solely with that one entry in the saga, it doesn't fit neatly into the "Bonus Material for individual films" qualification in the rule. |

| | Posted: | | | | I believe the rules actually are clear how to handle this: case type keepcase for the main film, then with a separate child profile created for the bonus feature. That would then be contributed via disc id if there is no UPC, then added to the main film's profile as a box set entry as well as have its disc ID included as a 2nd disc in the main film's profile. The bonus feature would also be listed as an "other feature" in the main film's profile. That is similar to how I would handle the separate DVD of "30 Rock" that comes with "Saturday Night Live: The Best of '06/'07" or the separate Aquaman DVD that comes with Best Buy's Smallville seasons. In each case, the bonus disc has its own packaging apart from the main title. FYI- quoting the relevent parts of the contribution rules: "Create the profile for the main feature in line with the standard Contribution Rules with the title of the Bonus Feature Film added to the Other Features field. Create a child profile for the "Bonus Feature Film" using the individual UPC if available or use Disc ID (read on a DVD-ROM) if not available. When creating a child profile, do not remove the "Bonus Feature Film" Disc ID from the main profile. Add the additional profile to the Main Profile as a child profile via the Box Set button." |
