If we do enter anything for "Theme by" credit, we'll have to check the credits again anyway to enter it in the future (if and when we'll have a proper "Theme by" role in DVD Profiler),

Yes, but my point is that we'll have to check the credits again either if we enter it now or not.

and in the meantime the composer of that music (often part of the score, as others noticed) will be incorrectly credited.

You might well be right, but there are also different opinions on this (Composer / Song Writer / Nothing), so I wouldn't be sure on what the "correct" way really is, until a clarification comes.

All I am saying is that we'll have to check credits again in either case, if and when we get a specific 'Theme by' role, so that isn't a reason not to enter it.

1) the poll results here are, no offense to the OP, completely useless. Two credits are presented, and then we are 'asked' composer credit or no composer credit? Everyone voting has made an assumption. Who's credit is being asked for the first one is obviously a composer based on the rules, the second is the one being argued over. But all the votes for composer could be votes to give Deborah a composer credit, which by the rules she should be giving, but John's credit isn't explicitly covered...just as the poll doesn't explicitly say what we are voting for

2) Why is it necessary to give everyone a credit in DVD Profiler. There is no theme by credit in DVD Profiler, so John doesn't get a credit in DVD Profiler. Who gives a flying hoot. Do you really think its keeping him up at night? You think he's at all these big hollywood gatherings saying "You know, I got credited in the actual movie (or tv show whatever this is) but I'm not credited in DVD Profiler. Now the producers aren't paying me for my work because the DVD Profiler rules don't allow me to be credited" If you personally want it, do it locally, when/if Ken sees fit to add a theme by credit, change your local and submit it (and only then will he get paid by the producers for his work   )

The best example that I can think of in this regard is probably the Superman series of films. John Williams composed the original score for Superman: the Movie and let's face it it isn't Superman without it. Beginning with Superman II (Ken Thorne),  the score was composed by others, with John Williams credited with the Theme, but that theme is an integral part of the total score, including the love theme. There was new music was written for the film, true, but much of it integrated parts of the Williams themes.
