Hello all

As a newcomer to BD I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good site that lists the extras on existing/forthcoming BDs?

I've been looking on Amazon, HMV (and even our own Invelos DB) and there are many, many title that simply don't list extras.

I've basically decided that I only want to replace DVDs if there is additional BD exclusive content (excluding BD live).

Alternatively, we could always use this site to list the extras specifically (rather than just saying 'Featurette').

What does everyone else think? Or can you recommend sites?

Many thanks

P.

DVDTimes

Goto Release dates - Blu-Ray release dates. They often list the specifications and extra's available.

You could als check Blu-Ray.com.

Blu-ray.com...while interesting won't help me personally being in the UK. DVDTimes is better though.  Thanks!

About Blu-ray.com, check the upper right corner. Click on the British Flag, Union Jack you call it I believe  . Now search for your titles again, and you should get UK release info.

Thanks for that!

However, of the few I had a look at most still didn't list the extras.

I'm definitely leaning towards asking fellow users to post the extras here as a reference.

For example - I have the 3 disc version of Peter Jackson's King Kong and I want to compare the extras on the BD (if there are any) - but so far I'm reading conflicting information.

I see your point. For me the difficult thing to find is subtitles. A lot of UK Blu-rays have dutch subtitles, but not all. Finding the correct list of subtitles is often as hard as finding the extras.

You wouldn't by any chance own the Top Gun Blu-ray. According to the profile in the database, it has dutch subtitles, but they are not listed on the cover, or any site I can find.

I think High-Def Digest does a fantastic job of listing bonus features.  They even have a separate section in their review to list exclusive content over the DVD.

They also list technical details like subtitles.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

Good luck to you.  For a long time many BDs had few or no supplements. If you had asked last year I'd say don't waste your time looking. However, this situation is finally changing for the better though not nearly enough in my view. All that supposed storage space going to waste... what a shame. Patience, patience!

You could also purchase Blu-Ray double cases, put the Main movie (BluRay) and the bonus disc (DVD) in the one case.  That way you have the bonus features and the Blu-Ray movie in one case saving on shelf space.
