The search times out every time I use it so I'll post a topic.

I'm re-adding M*A*S*H and The Shield and I'm also adding Babylon 5 The Ultimate Collection.
Which are 11 seasons for M*A*S*H, 7 for The Shield and 5 seasons + spinoffs ans 5 movies or so for Babylon 5

When I add them they say there are Child Profiles. Information regarding all the seperate seasons and even discs I suppose.

- Is this something you can still add later if you choose no?
- If I click add Child Profiles I have to add dozens of profiles (each season has 3-5 profiles for several discs/episodes).

I have to select certain options, collection numbers, tags etc.
I also have to select count as 1 to 0 every time to prevent suddenly having an increase of 50 instead of 1 item.

The Child Profiles have I suppose a bunch of information in them.

I'm not sure how to properly phrase my question/comment but what do I miss when I don't add them? Is there a way to add the information but not go through all the profiles? How can you handle this or how do you handle this?

edit; woops I meant preview topic... ehm topic wasn't finished yet but well the main idea is there.

You don't have to add child profiles for TV series. Some users only want one profile for a complete TV show, others want one (child) profile for each season and then there are those who want a profile for each and every single disc.

But as you've already noticed, most of the info is stored in the child profiles – if there are any available. To batch download child profiles just flag the parent profiles and go to "Collection" --> "Flagged" --> "Check for Child Profiles..." ("Collectie" --> "Gemarkeerd"). Next you'll be asked whether you want to download the profiles or not.

In terms of tags, count as etc. you can use copy and paste:
- Choose one child profile, do your personalization, then go to "DVD" --> "Copy".
- Now flag all profiles you want to overwrite with particular data (also see the various options under "Collection" --> "Flags" ("Markeringen").
- Go to "Collection" --> "Flagged" --> "Paste..."; now you have to check "Confirm action to overwrite [...]" and any field you want to change. Be careful, once you hit "OK" the overwriting process will start immediately!

I hope that answered (at least part of) what you were asking

Perfect I think.

ps. You can't copy collection number? Had to manually change 11 profiles. Not that much but still.

Glad to hear

And no, collection numbers can't be copied. That wouldn't make much sense either . But if you number your profiles after purchase date, release date or title, you can use "Collection" --> "Reassign Collection Numbers ...".

That would make a lot of sense since I have all my seasons of a serie the same collection number.

Also copy restrictions can't be copied aswell. *darn*
Which I had another question about;
Also I only want the parent profile to show up on my collectionlist; http://tinyurl.com/DVD-Blu-rayCollection. Right now I can see most (but not all) of Babylon 5, all of M*A*S*H and The Shield. And I selected Hide in Online Public and private listing. Bug? (browes through there and couldn't find anything)
If so I guess I'll open a new bug topic.

Have you uploaded your collection after changing the exclusions? If so, it really looks like a bug...

I have, also selected and deselected the options a few times and have other people look at the list aswell.
I'll make a topic shortly then. Then we'll see.

Are you saying, that I can do the reassign collection #'s of all my collection by purchase date by following the steps above.  I have about 2000 in my "owned" profile and over 4000 in my ordered.  I have a spread sheet with every purchase and wanted to make sure that was completely right before I started moving stuff over to "owned" .  (It's a long story how this got so messed up!)  I want to make sure that it is roughly in the order I bought it in (collection # wise), but iif I can move everything I have to "owned" and just reassign, that would be great.  Do you know also if the collection #'s of the child profiles will also be updated?  This will save me BUNCH of time if it is true.

Yes. Just make sure that every profile has a purchase date assigned to it (deselect "Nest Box Sets" in the "Collection" menu and then sort by "Purchase Date" --> "Ascending"). Move the profiles to Owned, then go to "Collection" --> "Reassign Collection Numbers...", choose "Reassign all collection numbers" and "Assign where set to "None"" and hit "OK". But make a backup of your profile database before, so you can always go back to where you started from...
