After updating to the newest version of DVD Profiler today, my "Owned" tab now displays the number 160782252!    I doubt that many DVDs even exist, but considering my "All" tab show 1436, I'd say the number is a bit off.

Edit: Another bug is the welcome page frequently opens with a "DVD" with no information, and no image as the Collection Showcase item.

Okay you win!

You must have made heavy use of the "Count As"  feature.

I think the Welcome page only shows "unwatched"  DVDs. Something that rarely happens with any of us, and with the number of DVD's you have! Have you set all DVD's to "Watched"?

But seriously, as a first step I would advise to do a database repair. Maybe something went wrong with your update, since this is not (yet) a generally recognized bug.

This can happen when you have one or more entries that are not in any collection - owned, ordered, etc.

We've made an updated version of the database repair utility available that finds and fixes these problems.  You can download it here.

I had this problem when DVD Profiler reported that I had child entries for a box-set. So I started the download for those child profiles, but for some reason the download got interrupted and as such the child-profile although visible in DVD Profiler (minus Cover Scans) they corrupted the owned count. I noticed that the problem lied with the entries not "belonging" when I tried an online synch - it had a "other" category even though I have yet to use Categories.

Removing the parent entry (and children in limbo collection) and re-downloading solved the issue for me.

Thanks, the database repairs seems to have done it. I think it was likely due to the child profiles problem mentioned by bOyce, among other things. Anyway, thanks, Ken!

BTW, in terms of the welcome page, is it possible to turn off child profiles as recommendations? I don't mind it recommending a series or movie, but saying "Why not watch disc 3 of season 2?" is a little weird, plus I don't want to see every disc of a 5 season series get recommended over time. Just curious.

You can turn this off in the Personalize page. Use Flags to do this for multiple child profiles.
