The usual basic question: how to parse this re-recording mixer's name?

Documentation, as is usually the case for parsing matters, is scarce. Some links, of which the first one seems to hint at Mike//Prestwood Smith:

- http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0696523/

Here's the way he's currently parsed in the database - five separate, non-linking entries for the same person:

Mike/Prestwood/Smith: 111 titles, 712 profiles (!),
Mike//Prestwood Smith: 38 titles, 135 profiles,
Mike Prestwood//Smith: 2 titles, 3 profiles,
Michael/Prestwood/Smith: 1 title, 1 profile,
Mike Prestwood-Smith: 17 titles, 51 profiles.

If the 17 titles for "Mike // Prestwood-Smith could get verified I would take this a a good indicator for a general "Mike // Prestwood Smith"

I will go checking on HP and the Goblet of Fire
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Can Prestwood be a first name?

Til now, I'm clearly tending to Mike/ /Prestwood Smith. because of the given links which have him with Prestwood-Smith.

In a country where you can name your children after their birthplace, practically anything can be a first name. "Prestwood" wouldn't even be a very unusual one, I think.

Cannot confirm the hyphenated variant for HP and the Goblet of Fire.

It appears to me that Prestwood is his mother's maiden name but his legal last name is Smith.. Because Mike Smith is sooo common and he isn't legally a Prestwood-Smith, so his undocumented last name is Prestwood Smith .. Kinda like the Thomas Hayden Church we did last year...

Funny, I cleaned his credits in my local this afternoon...

Here he's written as Mike Prestwood-Smith.
And his email address can be found here... if anyone wants to ask directly...

I voted for Mike//Prestwood Smith.

AMPS is a pretty official website.

Also, he's credited as Mike Prestwood-Smith in Ravenous.

I've wondered about this one as well, as I have three separate variants for him in my local (and I've seen contributions come through for him both ways... in one profile, two days after one parsing was approved, it was changed by another contributor... not on purpose I don't believe as it was part of a larger contribution, but it was frustrating none the less).

If more than a few of those hyphenated credits can be confirmed, I'd definitely lean towards Mike//Prestwood Smith. That and the link that ninehours posted to AMPS where he's listed (in an alphabetical index) between Maj-Linn Preiss and Jay Price only strengthen my thoughts on the parsing.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

He's also credited as Mike Prestwood-Smith in Hannibal Rising.

With the links provided by Mukl and ninehours, and the confirmation of Mike Prestwood-Smith credits, I think it's safe to call this one. Anyone disagree?

I'm starting to submit changes in my local to correct parsing and add common names where needed.
