Hey, new to this forum and also to the program so any help would be appreciated.  I'll try to keep it simple by giving a specific example.

On multi-film discs (2+ films on one dvd side) there are particular entries that have these separated as different entries by individual films.  For example Silent Night, Deadly Night / Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 Double Feature...The parent title is correct, but also it has the child titles as the individual films.

The difficulty I'm having is on multi-film disc boxsets.  On Frankenstein: The Legacy Collection for example, the discs are labeled correctly such as Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein as disc 1.  How would I go about further separating that so I could assign Frankenstein as well as Bride as separate entries?  I suppose it's like child of child so to speak.

What you are talking about is manual Profiles. Just go to Add by Title... and uncheck "Download from Invekis" on the lower left side corner of the screen. Then you can create profiles per movie.  The only downside is that it is local only since there is no way to contribute manual profiles.

I would say- to download the two titles seperately ( 75th anniversary #025193-102126) / Bride of -025192-063220 ).,
then change upc  and add  disc ID for both these titles, by using your dvdrom to find and attach the disc ID for each single titled disc.

Then use the "UPC" code for the parent (yours) add the two new titles. (disc ID).
Then Before you contribute the new parent/child to the data base check to see that all features and times and scans are correct to the titles (1931/1935)., Running times should be bang on., Studios should be the same but the DVD manufacturer should be and probably is different. The overview maybe differnat, but the cast and crew should be the same., & The scans should be of the double feature artwork and not the individual titled art..

don't forget to remove the two added titles you don't need anymore...

Here's a guide on how to use existing profiles as a basis for new ones. It's called "cloning profiles".

Pete's got the idea I think you're looking for.  You're looking to make manual profiles so that your set will look something like this:

Frankenstein: The Legacy Collection (UPC  parent profile)
+ Frankenstein / Bride of Frankenstein (disc ID child profile)
  + Frankenstein (manual grandchild profile)
+ Bride of Frankenstein (manual grandchild profile)

Once you've got your grandchild profiles created, you can then have them nest in the child profile by adding them in box set contents.

For these you do not need to download anything or change UPCs.  You can copy everything from the Disc ID child profile as far as cast/crew goes (just right click on cast or crew and select copy) then paste to the new manual profile and delete the part you don't need for each movie.

What widescreen & deejay are talking about is mainly used for new UPC or disc IDs of movies that already have profiles for the same movie in the database.

Danae's right, however if there are individual profiles for the movies in question in the database already you could alternatively clone those as well.

Hey, Danae and I were just trying to help a bit more. How is that any reason to get upset?

You also mentioned contributing new parent/child to the database.  Since the way I read it was that he was looking to make grandchild profiles, I was under the impression you had misunderstood what I believe the op was asking.  If my clarification upset you, I'm sorry for that.
