How can you remove restored headshots again? With the backup option "Custom Backup: [ ] Include custom credit photos"?

Not sure what you are asking for exactly. if you mean to remove headshots not in use, it's in the db repair custom repair function.

I'd like to know how to remove all the headshots again.

To remove all headshots:

Overwrite the files ACTORS.BLB and DIRECTPRODUCE.BLB with the ones from "Program Files\DVD Profiler\DatabaseTemplates" and then run a database repair.

But be sure you made a database backup before. so in case something goes wrong, you can restore your DB.

Try creating a backup with the cast/crew not selected and restore into a new db to test.

You must be kidding, I'm not going to remove all my cast and crew.

The cast & crew will be maintained from the profiles. But dsuehe's method sounds faster.

Great work.  I've found many new and improved headshots in the HSDB v6.

Alas, as can be expected with 45,000+ images there are some mistakes.  Here are the obvious ones I've discovered.

Your headshot of Ramon Bieri (left) is a picture of Arthur Hill (right).

Your headshot of Olive Carey (left) is a picture of Harry Carey, Jr. (right).

Your headshot of Dudley Digges (left) is a picture of Ricardo Cortez (right).

Your headshot of Claire Du Brey (left) is a picture of Gene Tierney (right).

Your headshot of Tony Giorgio (left) is a picture of Albert Paulsen (right).

YOur headshot of James Gleason (left) is a picture of Roland Young (right).

Your headshot of Charles Irwin (left) is a picture of Olaf Hytten (right).

Your headshot of Sally Kellerman (left) is a picture of Loretta Swit (right).

Your headshot of Robert Middleton (left) is a picture of Robert Culp (right).

Your headshot of Harry Morgan (left) is a picture of Alan Alda (right).

Your headshot of Michael Morris (left) is a picture of John Wayne (right).

Your headshot of Nestor Paiva (left) is a picture of Albert Bassermann (right).

Your headshot of Kelly Thordsen (left) is a picture of Hume Cronyn (right).

I was amazed at how few of these I found, at how many imporved headshots there were.

Again, I thank all the contributors very much for all the work that went into this.

For some reason my mind isn't wrapping around these statements correctly.

In this issue, the left photo claiming to be Ramon Bieri is really Arthur Hill - and that the left photo needs to be replaced by the right photo?

No, just the opposite.  The photos on the left are correct photos of each actor listed.  The photos on the right are the ones in the HSDB.

Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks for this latest headshot collection!

Sadly there are many people with unnecessary birth years in my database. Because the headshots don’t have BYs – which is good! – the new pics are not shown for these people.
Is there a way to remove those BYs automaticly from my DB?  Or do I have to remove all unnecessary BYs by hand?
(I couldn’t find a solution for this in the forum.  )

Rio

By hand.

The way I did it for the HSDB was to find a profile with no cast or crew - adding an upcoming release from far into the future is likely to satisfy this (click the preview link to verify first).  Then go though and add every person in your DB with a BY.

Once that's done, contribute the profile. Invelos will display a list of all invalid BY's, crew first.  Copy-n-paste the list into Notepad and then cancel the contribution.

Line-by-line in the document, highlight each name and press CTRL-C to copy it into the memory buffer. Switch over to DVDP and in the edit profile page for cast or crew, press F3 and then CTRL-V to paste the name into the search field.  This will bring up that user's entry but sometimes a name is short enough that it may filter out a few names.  Click on the correct name to highlight if not already and then click the edit button to remove the Birth Year.

ETA: After getting a list of names from Invelos, I visited the Birth Year thread in the Contribution forum to search there. If a name was listed in the BY thread, I left it in.

I updated the post for how I evaluate headshots to incorperate new logic that I used when merging v6 into v5: A younger headshot may be accepted if near to the same age as the existing headshot.

That said, contributed headshots was almost always excepted if the new headshot fit the "headshot profile" regardless of my personal views as to which is a better headshot.
